A womens body is a beautiful piece of art.Strip clubs are a dancer's gallery.

Try Shakira's "eyes like yours", see if you like it.

The spanish version, Ojos Asi, sounds SO much better, at least her voice. I could give a gazillion suggestions. Will get back on this one.....
"Have you ever been to American wedding? Where is the vodka, where's marinated herring?" - GB
"And do the cats give a shit? No, they do not. Why? Because they're cats."-from The Onion

Latin music isn't bellydance music, although the two are not mutually exclusive. More later, still......

A bunch of "dancehall" tunes are good too, very drum- and hot-vocal inflected....you can get away with a lot of "fusion" in crossing bellydance with strip-dancing. Goes with the territory.
voodoo-godsmack..big money song for me.
wow,I imagine that song would be perfect for bellydancing! Very seductive... kinda reminds me to think of selma hyack in Dusk to Dawn...Originally Posted by FallenFairy69

Dead Can Dance!!!
I used to do a set to the Ubiquitous Mr. Lovegroove and another song from "Into the Labyrinth", the first track.
It has great drums, and a middle-eastern feel. You have to get the DJ to ff thru part of the first song off that album, tho, cuz it has a long intro- but they go great together. It's an awesome set if you get crazy on the pole, too, cuz it speeds up and slows down in all the right ways to really highlight your pole work
I make damn good money on that set, and I bellydance at faire to it, too!haha

Just resurecting this....anymore suggestions?
I just love dancing to arabian/belly dance music just by itself with no theme.

that's your flaw

Two songs I'm going to using in an Arabian themed solo act/show:
My love is for real by Paula Abdul
Desert rose by Sting
I'm actually looking for a nice up-beat song that is Arabian/Belly Dance themed to play after Desert Rose. I'm also open for suggestions.....

Ok this might go without needing to be said, cause alot of girls are already using this song on stage.
Akon-Bonanza(bellydancer)
Great danceable song.
I think it would follow Paula Abduls-my love is for real, really well, not sure about it going well with desert rose though.
Just wanted to second that suggestion. You might want to listen to some of her other songs too. There is alot of eastern influence in her music due to her fathers heritage.Originally Posted by Bellydancer
Kish Kash is good for that kind of Arabian feel- I used them in my bellydance set.
Feature costumes for sale!

A little something I used to use, to which I was turned on by my hubby, Tre...
"Set The Controls For The Heart Of The Sun" - Pink Floyd
Might not also hurt to give a whirl to Sting's "Desert Rose".
~~McCain
try out anything by Frederico Aubele. the music is ultra-rhythmic, yet erotically dreamy. It's some of my fav to dance to, especially because it's in spanish, so most guys won't get caught up the lyrics (you know the ones, who sing along while you're on stage!!!) but simply float in the dreamstate it creates.
The Blonde Geisha

ok ok ok
im getting old....
Its not Akon,he is just a liner note,or backup singer on this song.Akon-Bonanza(bellydancer)
Try Baby Bash, featuring Akon or something like that.
I did the song again last night, fuckin rocked, girl banked!!!!!
Great stage song, belly dancer or not!

I found it on Limewire under Akon - Bellydancer
So far I'm using...
Paula Abdul - My Love Is For Real
Sting - Desert Rose
As for the third song (as I would like 15 mins of it "in theme") I'm considering
Shakira - In Your Eyes
Akon - BellyDancer
Black Box - Fantasy

Sorry, had to bring this back. If someone is looking for songs for belly dancing, look for arabic songs. I use to hang out at a hookah lounge all the time. The music is so beautiful. I can even say a few things in the language. Here is a site thoughArabic Belly dancer Site
Try "Living on the ceiling" Blancmange
"Kiss them for me" Siouxsie and the Banshees
"Ever so lonely" Monsoon
Chad Weston
Male Stripper / Dancer / Entertainer
Most of this stuff is NOT appropriate for the SC. I've tried most of it. Check out stuff by Amr Diab, "Habibi Ya Nour El Ain" worked for me for years. Its really tired in the bellydance community, but sounded cool at the club since it used an Andaluz rhythym.Originally Posted by StitchesH

I've tried a variety of authentic middle eastern music at the club over the years and most of it doesn't work.
I prefer modern music that samples middle eastern riffs, such as Jay-Z, "Big Pimpin" and Chemical Brothers "Galvanize."
