    Default abusing champagne room footage

I am going to start dancing next year when i move interstate, and I am a bit concerned/paranoid about security footage being shown outside of the club.

My family a stupidly religious imo and if they were to find out what im up to while im away, they would literally disown me.

Are there laws forbidding strip club owners using/selling security footage? I am aware I could sue if it happens but it's obviously too late by then.

Also, do all clubs have security camera's everywhere?

Some clubs do, some clubs do not. They would find themselves in a lot of trouble by airing that footage, since they need to have the express permission (usually in signature)of each person on the tape. Dressing rooms are one thing, champagne rooms are quite another.

I'm pretty sure laws would be diffrent state to state. Strip clubs are kind of a public place so the level of privacy expected is lowered.

Yes Em, some of them do. So be careful the next time you pick your nose and scratch your butt in the dressing room!

There has to be some kind of notifiation that surveillance (and/or taping)is going on. That's why you see those signs everywhere (grocery stores, convenience stores, dressing rooms, etc.).

This is a great but complex question. Express permission may not be necessary in many cases. You can thank Girls Gone Wild for truly blurring the laws on this one. I doubt, however, that a club could get away with openly and suddenly selling previously existing footage to the general public.

The far worse problem is the possibility that someone with access to the tapes would steal them and sell them to *deleted road map for evil doers*.

Take for example the Pamela/Tommy video tapes. No consent, but its everywhere, and they long ago exhausted legal recourses to stop it. This is just one of numerous examples. Even worse, since the *deleted more roadmap*.

Yet another problem is the absence of sound and video synchronization, which further pushes the no privacy boundary. Bottopm line, don't expect much help from the courts.

Just another perilous little pitfall, i suppose. Life is full of these, but it does seem that privacy has within a very short time span nearly vanished.

It's possible, but highly illegal. You have to have the signed permission of both parties.

Girls I've worked with have done "Girls Gone Wild". It is not a spontaneous thing. The girls on camera go on location with GGW and have already signed their waivers/consent forms. When they film those kinds of thing, there are large signs at the entrance advising of the taping, and that if you do not wish to be on camera, not to come in to the area/restaurant/club. If you go in, you've given your consent to be taped and your image used.

hey, look at the bright side. The existance of a club security video might be the ONLY way to prove that you're not guilty if/when an undercover cop buys a private dance from you and then ropes you into a bogus bust.
