My first few shifts were hell. I was confused and had no idea what to do or where my boundries were. In no time, I became a certified stripper. It was very difficult to judge whether stripping was not for me or I was riding the learning curve. Those who say to deal with it probably mean that it is awkward at first. If a person does not comfortable after 3-5 shifts, she shouldn't be stripping. She needn't be a super stripper by then, but she does need to know where her boundries are, how to keep them, and let the cusomters BS slide off like she was covered in Rain X.

I agree, but if someone HATES it as much as OP expresses, and is as ashamed / afraid of someone she knows seeing her as OP expresses, I think it's safe to say after just once that it's not for her. There's a huge difference between feeling awkward vs ashamed.

i think the next time you go in you'll do much better .You were just nervous so you couldn't do well. That's if you want to give it another shot at dancing, the first time or two will be alittle tough cause your not use to it.

She hasn't logged in since. Guess it wasn't for her.

Awww Im sorry to read about youre expieriance Maybe u can work youre way up.. like get useto the club atmosphere. Bartending or waitressing?? Thats pretty much what i did. I also agree with whitney Maybe u just need to feel confident and sexy!!. My first night OMG Im from a really small town and well there were a few guys i knew there.. After my 3rd drink ( to get rid of my stage fright ) I got up there and gave it all i had. Not to mention i danced in bare feet! I was so scared of falling on my face in front of everyone!.. lol but after that i didnt go back for 3months. I gradualy got into it. Started doing it once a month and more and more Good luck..

By the way everyone im new Love this forum!!! I just found it!

LOL, I am 1 week into stripping and it has been tough---I feel like I am the new girl high school---but it gets easier every day. And it has been financially rewarding I am sure I could be making more $$$ right now, but I spend a lot of time hanging back and observing the other girls to try and get a better feel for what's going on. But you HAVE to push yourself, no one is going to do it for you!

Whatever happens onstage you just gotta own it, look the custies in the eye and smile. Last night I heard some custie say "that girl sucked" when my set was over and it just reaffirmed my desire to put on the best damn stage show in the club...in due time. I am starting some private lessons this week, definitely worth the investment, more for myself than the money.

This is WORK and you have to look at it like any other project. Try, fail, get up, try again. But be smart about it...don't get wasted at work, save your money, pay your bills and think about how you are going to use the experience of putting yourself (and your ego/self confidence) out there in order to get what you want. I have no doubt it is a super useful lesson to learn.

Ahhh, I'll have to remember that when the DJ calls my name later and I get sick to my stomach! hehehe

One other thing, I WISH I had a video of my first dance...oh my god, it must have been the most hilarious performance I have ever created--and I have an undergrad degree in theater!
