Default Hair and Make Up tips?

Hey! Do any of you wonderful ladies have any hair and make up tips? Whenever I put on my make up or do my hair, the heat and sweat from dancing all night makes it look horrendous, and my hair frizzes up and all my make up melts. how can i keep it looking fresh? (dumb question, I know, haha i'm new)

For the hair, invest in ceramic tools.

Regular, heat only straighteners or curling irons are susceptible to humidity, heat sweat, etc. Any moisture will undo your hard work and frizz.

Ceramic irons (expect to pay anywhere from 40-120...they'll last you forever and are worth the money) lock the position of the hair, so even when you sweat, or ine xtreme humidity, your hair will stay just as you styled it. I use no product, and my hair looks the same all day.

For your makeup, after I've applied it, I clos emy eyes and spray my face with hairspray. Sounds extreme I know, but I never have to reapply my makeup. My lipstick stays put and even my shadow doesn't crease. Just make sure that when you get home, you clean your face very thoroughly, and make sure you do a deep cleanser, either a facial or a face exfoliator, once a week (obviously hairspray isn't great for skin, but if you dot he above, your skinw ill be fien and breakout free).

DO you have straight or curly hair? Mine is pin straight but humidity and heat make it do all sorts of funky crap. I use Redken Glass to keep it smooth.

To keep my eyeshadow on better, I always put down a base. There are some shadows that go on wet and dry that work well, like MAC's Paint (many shades too!) and even alone they stay on better. But I put on shadow over that (usually something similar to my skin tone) and the colors look bolder and stay better. Or you could just put foundation on your lids before shadowing them.

I always have my press powder in my locker, to touch up my skin if it's too hot. And if my shadow is fading THAT fast, I tend to bring the colors I used that day and a small brush. (The club I'm at now has TINY lockers, cant fit my makeup bags...)

Some liquid eyeliners stay on like mad! I use L'oreal's Lineur Intense (Felt Tip) and it stays on great! I could sleep with it on and the next day its still in place. Rawr.

As for hair I highly reccomend investing in the CHI. I paid about $120 for the small one. Best freakin hair tool Ive ever bought! Good hair tools is always best for investments to me. I have curly hair but I make it straight for work.
At work I style it all the time depending on how hot it is. But after I have a good deep conditioner. I use biolage one in the white mini tub with purple writing. Hope that helps!

sometimes if i wear black eyeliner ontop of my eye lids i line black eyeshadow ontop of it wit a small thin brush and it makes my eyeliner last longer.

If you are going to wear lipstick -- i will usually put foundation ontop of my lips first then use lip liner to fill in my lips then apply lipstick on top. Instead of lipgloss i like to use petrolium jelly -- it usually lasts longer then lipgloss.

those of you who have tried the CHI....I had that and it got stolen at work (grrrrr) so I bought a ionic one. Man, it blows the CHI away. I got the T3 Tourmaline one at Sephora.

My hair feels softer, the ends don't feel split (even though they are), and it resists humidity so much better. It's also faster and there is less tugging. You can even use it when your hair is damp.

my favorite cosmetics are lip plumpers like Lip Venom, eyepaints from MAC and my Holy Grail mascara....DiorShow.

Hey, Emily, I'm kind of on the market to try something new. I have a CHI that works better than all the other irons I've tried, but my hair still does not resist the sweat at work. This tourmaline iron sounds good.

SheLaq kicks @$$! I never take it to work, it gets used up by everyone else... I go to work made up already (like to look good walking in, never know who'll be there). I only take makeup for touch-ups just in case.

I've heard about the hairspray thing...many people love that trick.

You could also try a primer on your face. That would help the makeup adhere.

I have naturally curly hair, and I always use serum before I straighten it (and also after) to *lock* the look, and to make it shiny. I use a ceramic straightener too, and I agree w/ Tigersmilk, it's definitely one of the best tools I've ever bought.

Whooaaa sorry I never replied again to this thread! I had lost the URL for stripperweb and didn't return for several months! thanks anyway for all the tips, ladies!! I printed them all out for reference! And Emily... I was totally gonna buy the E3 Tournaline, but was too cheap so I settled for a pretty good Ceramix or whatever it was called, but that's definitely my next next big hair purchase (the next is a curling iron haha)
Thanks again for all the reccommendations and links! you guys rock my ass!
