    Default Feet Blisters

someties (it depends on heels) i'll get blisters on my feet, now that i'm going to be dancing and wearing 5-6inch heels is there any way to prevent blisters ...they aren't very attractive and don't feel very nice.

Plus i'm sure i'll get sweaty feet -- sounds nasty i know but i can't help it -- i don't want to be slipping around in my shoes ...is there also any way to prevent this.

Or any other foot things i should know about?????

One thing that helped me alot through the nights was wearing a taller heeled shoe. I like Pleasure shoes for comfort. Also try mini insoles. www.aldoshoes.com has them they will keep you from getting foot claw while you are sweating so much.
To prevent foot stink (i know its gross) but spray Tinactin in your shoes before you get in them also I read somewhere else on here that afterwards wipe down the inside with a alcohol wipe.
    Hope that helps a little.

Some dancers spray anti-perspirant (like Sure or Mitchum) on their feet. Tinactin is good.
Put a band-aid over the spots you know will rub on the shoe. Can't hurt to try. Dr. Scholl's also sells many insole products, you can mix and match according to light shoes or boots.

I buy all my shoes a size bigger than I normally wear. It eliminates my toes hanging over the edge (I hate the way that looks)... I also put this liquid powder on my feet a few times at night... It dries quickly to a powder so my feet stay nice and dry. Plus it has some kind of cooling effect so it feels good.

I get really really bad blisters from my softball cleats. They wear deep holes in the balls of both feet (I had 3 that were about 1/8th of an inch deep, and 2 inches wide last semester). I have a wide foot, and they don't make wide cleats, especially for women and in the brand that sponsors us. They're excrutiating, I know. What the trainer does for me when they've already developed is put neosporin and a butterfly band-aid on them, then a layer of "moleskin" (this stuff that's thick and fuzzy on one side, and sticky on the other), then she wraps tape around my foot to hold that all on. That's after they're already there so I can stand to walk and run lightly.

When I try to prevent it, or maintain regular skin once the blisters heal, I soak my feet in hot water with epsom salt; and before I put my socks and shoes on, I spray Dr. Scholl's powder on my feet and in my shoes. It keeps your feet dry for a long time, and at work you'd have time to keep re-applying if you needed. Also, there should be some little pads in that section to prevent blisters. Either that or get those clear band-aids that are like tegaderm patches.
