    Default Help: Clothing

i don't know where to put this, me and my husband are pretty much poor -- every bit of money counts.....i ordered some corsets which were on sale and they gave me the wrong size -- what is worse is that we can't return it because they say no return or exchange on clearance clothing.....i can't wear anything because i have nothing -- i have two bra's that are pretty much falling apart...and they aint the most flattering pieces of clothing.
    -ends rant.

How do i improvise on clothing, my friend is a skinny little thing and i can't share clothes with her and or does anyone have a sites where the clothes are not over priced.

    thanks guys.

Ebay!!! I sell stuff there for a penny a lot of the time. I am an in club costume lady and sometimes my stuff just doesn't move and I need to get it off my rack, so I list it on Ebay starting the bidding at .01 cent. I sold a dozen brand new lingerie and stripper items this week for less then $10 and frequently less then $5.

Also try Wal Mart. They have some cute bra and panty sets for really low prices as well as sexy nighties and lingerie at really low prices. Also check consignment shops and Goodwill type places. Even though I would never reccommend that you buy used underwear, if you are desparate for cheap stuff, just buy it and wash it using bleach to kill germs.

One more place to check is with the other dancers you work with. Frequently they have items that they are just sick of and will sell to you at a fraction of the original price of an item.

But one thing to keep in mind is that this is just a stop gap method for finding cheap stuff. In the long run the expensive dancer clothes will last longer and look better. The customers may not know that you spent a lot of money on your outfits, but they will know that you either look well put together or look like you are wearing cheaply made stuff.

Promote yourself and earn more money! This is a business that is owned by strippers for strippers. Let's make that money!

when I first started dancing, I actually got stuff at walmart and some of it was really cute.
What I think is so funny about it is that one of my best nights ever (money wise) was in a walmart outfit.

also do a sell or trade with those corsets that don't fit.

you can sell those corsets and use the money to buy other outfits cheap. put money aside from your tips to get high quality outfits, though- they will last longer, and they pay for themselves. and remember *(~sings, like in the commercial:~)* you can do it eeeeee-bay!

Hmmm...I've got some ebay stuff that I've used to 'get started', but while they look hot, the thread is coming loose on one of the outfits after all of three wears. Still, I got them for dirt cheap, so I hardly feel bad. As far as investing in outfits goes however, the girls at my club who others say "spend thousands" on their outfits do look waaayy better on stage then those in the cheaper stuff. Hard to say whether that helps their sales significantly more, but it sure couldn't hurt.

Thank you girls i appreciate it very much -- those are some good idea's never thought of going to walmart but you are right they do have some nice stuff --- even though they might be cheap i have a sewing machine and love to decorate and add things to my clothing -- i think i might do that as well...definately will check out ebay, haven't been there in a while but sounds cheap, how i like it -- hopefully in the future when i save ne ough money i can afford something of more longer lasting...i just needed something for now.

If you are looking for a good-quality corset-type thing, try making your own. I obviously don't know your sewing skills, but if you find a good pattern (even look online for freebies), it's relatively cheap to make a good-quality, unique, and most of all, hot, corset. Just takes time, patience, and some sewing skills. I do sewing and costuming, and corset-making is one of my favorite types of projects.

I definagely agree with Wal Mart they have a lot of decent stuff there and the quality really ain't that bad. I have a hot bra and panty set I bought there that I've been wearing to dance in for over 2 years and I can't see any signs of wear yet. I also have a corset type thing that's very hot that I bought at Wal Mart and it's holding up very well. Every time I go to Wal Mart I swing by the lingerie and undies section just in case cause ya never know what you're going to find there. They also sell fish net thigh highs and regular thigh highs too!

HELL YEAH! Okay sorry I'm still a little hyped up I saw her in concert on Saturday night and she was fuckin' awesome!

If you can sew then you can make outfits for next to nothing. Bikinis are pretty much just 3 triangles and folding elastic. The tinyest scraps or material can make a bikini. I make long wrap type things from about a metre of net cloth, shaped and tied, no sewing. It's pretty easy to turn something like that into a gown with a little imagination if you wanted to. I am not particularly great at sewing, but my stuff passes (-:

Well, if it was the company's mistake, they should do an exchange for you. You may want to all and make sure that they won't before you get rid of them...

But, ebay has some great items on there...for cheap. I agree with the girls who said to sell the corsets that you have and then use the money to buy new stuff. In fact, I have a lot of friends who would wear an outfit a few times and then ebay it off and buy new stuff...to keep their wardrobe changing.

I make up my own outfits, alot of times. But the best stuff comes from exchanging or buying from other dancers. Ive asked a girl if I can buy the outfit she was wearing. She said that she wasnt doing to well, that night so she went for it.

Second hand stores are a good place to find stuff for cute outfits. In fact most girls can't belive the stuff I have that came from second hand stores. Halloween is the best time to shop for cheap stripper stuff.
Places like the gaint tiger and bargain shop have very cheap clothing.

The trick is you have to dig and look and look often. For the 100 things of crap you will look at you'll find one or two good things.

Nice store but to post that you're going to have to buy an ad and put it in "for sale/wanted" thread.

Why would you charge $8 for shipping? Priority mail is fast and costs $4.
