    Default brow lift?

anyone get a brow lift? I am going back to the doctor that did a spectacular job on my implants to have him do my browlift.

Not to mention the spectacular price. Im wondering what kind of pain is associated with this procedure (having it done around christmas this year)

So, if you had it done, how did it go?

A girl I know had it done and it looked great!! Sorry, I don’t know the technicalities but if I recall correctly the incision was in her hair line and not visible. How much are you paying?

I would like to learn more about the procedure and what the risks are.
I've heard from someone that you can get the same results from Botox. Is that true ?

Botox can lift the brow, but it also freezes your facial expression, so you look like you're really surpised constantly.

Elle, I'm not trying to come down on you, but you're 23 years old, correct? You've already had a BA, a nose job, and now you're contemplating a browlift? Don't destroy your natural beauty by become a plastic surgery junkie. Take a look at this link:

That's what happens to your face when you start getting a whole bunch of shit done to it that you never needed in the first place.

I was reading through this thread and thought I would put in my two cents worth for those of you that aren't crazy about the idea of having surgery. We have a facial plastic surgeon at our facility, however our skin care practice has grown tremendously due to new advancements in non-surgical procedures such as the Thermage Treatment, Fraxel Laser and most recently the Portrait PSR3. They all work differently but effectively. I will go over some of these different modalities below and explain how each of them achieves results.

Collagen in the skin is what gives it the youthful thickness and elasticity that we all too easily take for granted when we're younger. As we grow older the majority of us lose the natural ability to produce collagen which results in, you guessed it, wrinkles. The Thermage treatment, that I mentioned above, uses a radio frequency to heat below the skin without damaging the surface which stimulates the skin to produce collagen. The effectiveness of this procedure is somewhere around 70-80% and typically requires two to three treatments to achieve optimal results with no down-time for the patient. Each treatment takes 20 to 30 minutes to perform.

Fraxel is a laser, actually it is a bunch of tiny lasers from one treatment head. Fraxel is an ideal treatment for skin damage, age spots, scarring (acne or otherwise) and even wrinkles. By emitting hundreds of microscopic lasers from the treatment head in a grid-like pattern, the Fraxel laser has the unique ability to treat a mere 20% of the skin at a time. The laser actually intentionally damages this 20% (although it is not noticeable) which initiates the surrounding 80% of healthy skin to heal it. This creates a blending effect and softens the appearance of facial damage. After a series of three treatments, 60% of the skin is fresh and new and most scarring or other damage is unnoticeable. Each Fraxel treatment also takes 20 to 30 minutes.

Finally, in my long winded post, the latest treatment available is the Rhytec Portrait PSR3 which uses a series of nitrogen plasma pulses focused below the skin's surface to initiate regeneration of skin. That's right, skin actually is regenerated and continues for up to a year's time without additional treatments. This is a very powerful device and treatments on full power will result in up to two weeks down-time for the patient with results similar to an effective CO2 laser skin resurfacing treatment but without the potential consequences and unpredictability of results inherent in the CO2. Some patients opt for multiple treatments on a lower setting to achieve results without the down-time of the higher powered treatment. This procedure can take from 15 - 30 minutes to perform and may require sedation for the higher powered treatments.

Here is a link to face procedures on our website for anyone interested in finding out more or setting up a consultation with our doctors or paramedical aesthetician.

    Hope this helps!

I was thinking the same thing, smartcookie. Tampa is GORGEOUS and I know she knows, but I can tell she's a bit of a perfectionist.

That woman Jocelyn Wildenstein is on the front page of some checkout magazine this week. She is quite weird.

Also, for the plastic surgery guy....I think this is probably a very supportive place to talk about cosmetic surgery. We just worry about our girls.

yea.. that chick is absolutely gross.

The brow lift is actually to make my eyes symmetrical b/c one brow is sort of covering my eyelid a bit making it feel heavy. It is not a full brow lift really.

I know i am a perfectionist, but im not so extreme that i would ruin what i have going on for me now

Sorry in advance, this is off topic...

Darlitt, does the Body Sculpting Center offer thead lifts? I've talked my mom out of getting a facelift, but since she really would like to refresh her look, I thought the thread lift would be a less-invasive procedure. And welcome to the board, I drive by your center every week and am sure somewhere down the road will be coming in to be "refreshed" too.

Can you tell us more about the Fraxel recovery time, risks, how many treatments are necessary? Thanks.

Jesus TFD, your face is just about perfect. At 23, you shouldn't be doing anything else. Maybe my memory is bad, but the pics you've posted here are stunning. Please carefully consider this move, it's unnecessary in my removed-from-you-physically POV.

I'm not coming down on anyone either, but why walk around looking surprised?

I have never gotten any type of plastic surgery and am considering now, to consult someone about my neck.. only because, I have always had a fuller face.. since I have lost so much weight, I've noticed its looser.. but I'm doing everything else first before I go to that resort.. and no, its not that noticeable, I only notice it, but it still bothers me.. everything else on me is fine.. I went from 148 to 106 pounds in the span of a year, most recently losing 11 pounds after my jaw surgery.. I'm firm everywhere except a little loose around my neck..

Tampa, don't get the brow lift.. you are very beautiful and young... wait until you're in your 30's before you do anything.. truthfully, I'm in my early 30's and am just now considering this stuff..

    Hugs.

Actually.. no offense to anyone but my question wasn't whether or not i should get it done.

I am going to get it done and it wont be overkill. Im trying to even out my eyes, if you knew what i was talking about i think you would understand. On my right eye my brow droops a little over my eyelid, and clashes with my other eye. Not only does it feel heavy and unnatural, that eye constantly is closed in pictures when i am smiling.

Ok. My surgeon wanted me to wait 6 months to see if things would change or get better, since they haven't i am going ahead with surgery.

TFD was unfuckingbelievably stunning before surgeries; I can only imagine what she looks like now.

I never heard of a brow lift before this thread, but based on TFD's description, I actually think it's something I would be interested in, since I, too, have one lid that hangs lower than the other. Of course, it wouldn't really help a fat, balding, toothlessly slobbering PL like myself, so I'll probably never do it, but I didn't even know you could have something like that addressed.

Amazing what you can learn on SW.

    Hey KittyKat1971,

Yes, we do the thread lift here. On our website it is called a Mid-Face Lift and we use the special sutures with a minimally invasive surgical procedure in the hairline to insert the sutures which then are used to tighten the skin without the often stretched appearance of a regular face lift.

Hey Tampa, sorry in advance if this is too much off topic, but here is the skinny on the Fraxel:

recovery time - None. The skin will be red for a couple of days followed by a bronze tone for a day or two. Both of which can be easily covered with makeup.

risks - There are no risks involved unless you are allergic to the topical anesthetic that is used. Which can be substituted for an alternative anesthetic.

treatments - Since the Fraxel laser treats only 20% of the skin at a time, 3 to 5 treatments are the norm to see the best results.

    <groan> elle... girl, you're crazy!

But although I think you're PERFECT as is, I relate to you perfectionist personality. You know that I think this eyelid thing is unnoticable, but if it's going to make you feel better about yourself - go for it.

But you know, I gotta tell you that you're nuts

Is what you're interested in called Blepharoplasty?

It's a surgery for eye lids.

Procedure doesn't look that drastic to me, from the pics I saw online. Good luck with it if you decide to do it.

blepharoplasty from what I understand is for the puffy undereyes like Bill Clinton has. I think an endoscopic brow lift is what she's talking about. I've seen some people on some TV show that had it done and it looked great. I never knew lifting the brows could do that.
