    Default body measurements

I am 5'3" and tonight I weigh 109 lbs. My body measurements tonight are 33" bust, 25" waist", 33" hips, 19" thighs and 12" calves. I wear a size 0/2. I am not partically satisfied with the way my body looks. I would like to be more like an hourglass. I feel like my thighs are too big also in comparison to my calves. I do pilates 2-3 times weekly, treadmill or elipitical machine 30 minutes 3 times weekly and 30 minutes of weight training 3 times weekly. I eat about 1500 cals per day. If I lose weight I tend to look more like a stick and if I gain weight I look more like an apple, lol. Any advice?

I would say go ahead and gain weight properly. If I were you I would up my caloric intake about 200 more calories...wait 2 weeks and if youre not bulking up good adjust it for more or for less. At 1500 Im not sure if your body is properly retaining all of your muscle you worked out for. Doing great on your routine so far.
Otherwise I dont know the reason for the "appleness".

It just seems if I gain weight I do so in my belly and if I lose weight I do so in my hips and breasts. I do a lot of abdominal exercises. According to a body fat machine at the gym my body fat is 17.6%.

There is only one thing you can do at this point:

Accept the way that your body looks and take care of yourself.

The "problems" that you are seeing are genetic and there is nothing that you can do to change it. You can't lose weight because you'll look too skinny and you cannot gain weight because you are predisposed to a certain body shape. Just find the things you really like about your body and learn to accept that there are just some things that we absolutely cannot change.

17.6% is awesome! You must kick your butt. VG is however right. I think if you have tried everything and you have already watched yourself long enough. Body acceptance is hard, at least for me.

Thats going to be very tough. I'm about your height and weight and an hourglass, but my actual measurements are way off from yours. I'm 5'3", 110lbs, and a 36B-27-37... size 5. If you've already tried gaining and losing, and neither work... hrm. I really dunno what you could do...

Try weight training with heavy weights. That way you can build your shoulders, thighs, and calves up, while women's waists tend not to bulk so much. I don't know though, I am no expert in body sculpting, as I always have gained and lost about the same levels.

Oh girl, you are taller than me and you weigh less! Aaaack.

Yep, Venus is right, you can't change genetics.

People always want what they can't have. I've been jealous of my sister-in-law's behind for years now. (It's similar to what you're describing.)

    Hmm...I'm 5"3, 111 lbs (trying to get it down to 105 - 108 ), 34B - 25 - 36. My ideal measurements would be 34 - 24 - 35. My biggest problems are my butt/thigh area, and I'm really working to tone up my tummy.

From your measurements, it sounds like you have a great shape as it is, and the rest are genetics. If you just keep up with your weight training and cardio, which you don't seem to have a problem with, you'll continue looking amazing and keep your body tight, which is the most any of us can do!

Green, I have the same kinda body as you. I have to stay lower-end weight to keep away the apple look, but anything lower than 120 for me (at 5'7" and a half) I look stick skinny...125 is ideal on me. It's a damn fine balance...staying toned but keeping my breasts. Apple bodies suck, but it's just nature. Can't fight the genes, just keep as toned as possible.
