This has really become a dillema for me. I live in Oregon now, the club I just quit working at 2 days ago was aweful and the money was pathetic. I dont have a car anymore so I cant drive to any neighboring cities and I just dont feel like settling for a day job.
I was very interested in thebestdancers.com and using them to get booked in St. Petersburg, FL. I would pay for my own ticket and be reimbursed at the end of a 4 week contract (5 days a week, 6 hours a day) and shared lodging would be free. The website said girls earn around $300-$800 a night. After reading bad things about agents in general and imagining the money probably not being as great as its made out to be I would be satisfied making $200 a night average and being able to take home $4,000 and have a sunny vacation.
But I could also work in Las Vegas. I have my dance card from 2 years ago but i was under 21 then so i will probably need a new one, plus ive heard something about business licenses (are they really $150?) then i would also have to pay for my own hotel and gas (my sister in AZ would let me borrow her extra car). i figure that it will cost about the same as a plane ticket to florida to become properly licenced to work and stay at the budget suites for a week. but i would do it if i could make more than the $4,000 i think i could get out of florida - and i dont even know if i could really even make that in florida! the club there could be a total dud. but im not a barbie or a hustling machine so vegas could be disappointing as well (it definately was when i was 20)
either way i have no job in oregon, i will go totally broke and move in with my mom before i submit myself to that club again. I ordered the Dancers Wealth homestudy course and it should get here next week and i think that will give me an edge and improve my sales which ever place i end up going. any advice you can offer would be appreciated very much.
