    Default Stealing

Not actual stealing. A couple times I've heard of or experienced girls saying that another girl has "stolen" their costume, song, routine, etc. Today, as I came off stage, the girl who was going after me told me that I was attempting to copy one of her pole tricks. Now, consider that for one- it's not a very original trick; it's one that lots of girls do. Two- I wasn't actually doing it, but this made it worse, she said I was "trying" to. Three-, I've been working at the club for almost three years and she's been there a month.

This puzzles me; I would never begrudge someone else a shtick even if I had thought it up (and lets face it, nothing is new- there's hardly a outfit or trick that's never been done.) Obviously the whole thing is absurd, so that's not the point. How am I supposed to handle this? I hate getting involved in changeroom politics but I also hate having enemies over something so dumb, and I know that she will talk and talk.

    Any advice?

PS- Come to think of it, the idea of taking off my clothes for money wasn't my own either. Wow, maybe she has a point.

Let her run her stupid mouth. A little beeyotch used the "trying" line to slam my polework. I told her icily, "I've been doing it for years, dear heart."
Expertise is obvious to everyone in the club (visual entertainment..hello.) There is a pecking order. Since your biceps are built up from exacting your rocking pole work, offer to stick this chick's head under your armpit in a headlock so she can see how you do the thing you do so well.
    Best of luck.

The next time she says something to you, smile, tell her that neither you nor she invented polework or dancing and that if there is a patent for either, neither one of your names is on it. Then walk away and continue your night.

Just smile and walk away knowing that she's most likely one of those girls who gets drunk, sits in a corner and complains that she doesn't make any money.

You know...some people are just drama queens...there has to be something for them to bitch, whine, moan, and complain about for them to feel like they are living life to the fullest. Sad. But, good in the sense that most of these types of people usually end up being what was described above, which simply means that you'll make the money they aren't.

We have a girl who has been dancing about 8 years, she has a move that's she's known for, spinning on her head. It's her signature move. Another girl has been trying to do this move and cannot do it justice, but she gets credit for trying. The "newbie" told the "old skool" girl not to do it in our upcoming Entertainer of the year contest because it would make her look bad when she did it in the contest.

I hope the old skool girl laughed in her face - I would not have been able to resist. LOL! What gall that lil cunt has

Pay no mind. People just need attention and drama. A lot of the girls in clubs live for conflict. Just let them know you don't care and always remind them of this:

Every guy likes a different type of woman. There's plenty of business to go around.
    ...

Thinking that anything you've ever done is original is the stupidest thing a person can do.

    That's all I've got.

AHHHH.. the all too famous, "You're stealing my (insert pole trick, music, here)... The first night I stripped ever.. I witnessed two women on the floor of the dressing room fighting over a song... LOLOL.... back in the day where babyoil would get dumped in the slats of your locker ruining all your stuff, someone bringing in a saw (yes, a hand saw) and sawing part of your heel just enough so that if you danced hard, you'd break it and fall on your face... back when you needed armour to be a dancer....

Hmmm.... maybe that's why my first club had mud wrestling... LOL

Gynger, you STILL need it. People dont' mess with me for 4 reasons:

1- I dont' do sh*t so it's NEVER my fault

2- I'm quick to lock a b*tch up (hit me all you want-have fun in jail!)

3- There are so many people that will beat your ass for me (without me saying anything), they'll fight over who gets to do it first

4- I'm litigious as hell, I represent myself in court and I haven't lost a case yet...(law school next year)

Minah, I just retired last fall.. I know you still need armour.. but not so much where I was the last year.. small town... but, in the bigger cities, yes, I have no doubt that you need armour still..

I have a few ass kickings threatened myself..

Which law school you going to? I'm hoping to go next year..

omg!!I hate it when that shit happens. There was this girl that came in to work at my club awhile back,She was real short..kinda chunky build,Extreamely bleached blonde hair.Real trailer trash queen. She had this terriable country(ie hick) accent and wore this horrable faded green dress all the time.I had been working at my club for about a year and a half..she had been there about 3 days.I was coming off the main stage when she gets up from a table with a customer and starts yelling at me that I stole Marilyn Manson's The Dope Show from her.I laughed at her right in frount of everyone.I then told her that nither of us owned the music,I didn't care if she dances to it or not,and that she could ask every girl in the room and half the men and they would be happy to tell her that I danced to it long before she ever arrived.I turned around and walked away from her.And Just to piss her off I bribed the dj very well and he played her The Dope Show for the rest of the night.

If the song is played on the radio, MTV or BET, no girl should be complaining when another plays it at work. EVERYONE knows that commercial crap

Hmmm I've seen some pretty rough shit go down in clubs fairly recently. At the last club I worked at in Florida one bitch had bleach dumped in her bag destorying all her costumes for literally terrorizing another girl. I have to say, she deserved it. When I danced in Wisconsin the girls were particularly catty. One girl who everyone hated because she was a rat had her bag peed in by 7 different girls. I also heard of girls dumping shit though the slates in the locker there. Personally no one ever fucks with me because I'm thick. Yeah they will talk shit but they always back down. I'm also really careful about watching my shit and locking my shit. Oh yeah and just a couple days ago a bitch at the bar I just quit at had a bottle of hand sanitizer dumped in her purse when she wasn't looking. She deserved it too because she is one of those old bitches who always terrorzing new dancers out of jealousy. Just remember, karma is a bitch!
In a black light trance, then go go dance...

She's an insecure little twit. A confident chick would not be thrown by someone doing the same moves, music or look. I had a whole club of newbies copying my moves and frankly I was flattered. I just created all new ones. Tease her and tell her to do the same if she's so worried.

Hmm, I can't beat the pleasure of knowing I'm outperforming a dancer who is eating her heart out over it. If she's that unprofessional, she deserves to suffer.
You know you rock, she knows it too. She's just too afraid to ask everyone for the truth!

    A quick update:

I've dealt with this merely by ignoring her and going about my business, which seems to be working. It's tough to do but it's really the best solution. She has taken to standing with a waitress during my show, with her arms crossed, glaring at me. I just have to laugh. Is this high school?

There are so SO many girls at my club that I think people are just desperate to stand out. When they have something they think is 'theirs' they guard it jealously. I can understand wanting to be unique but come on.

I've had people do that to me... One time I started in a new club and even before I went on stage 3 different girls did MY POLE TRICK. The one where you just swing around the pole. They must have known I was coming and came to my old club to watch me on stage just so they could copy my stuff before I got there. The nerve...

    People are sooooo stupid sometimes

I've had girls ask me to show them some of my pole tricks and I never mind doing that. I actually consider it a form of flattery and who knows maybe one day they'll do a pole trick that I'd like to learn

I think you are doing great by ignoring her. The guys dont really care what you do on stage and i really dont think they are keeping a tally of who does what like the other girl.

I've never had someone accuse me of it myself, but I've seen it happen to other girls. Like Mr. T, I pity the female that tries that crap on me. I've had girls steal my look, outfits, etc., but since it was so transparent, I didnt' care. They were the ones that looked like idiots.

P.S. Gynger, I havent' made up my mind yet since I do not know if I will be in SoCal or Vegas next year. I will let you know.
