Default Dancers that live in Vegas...

Hi guys. I am planning on buying a house in Vegas inside of a year from now. I want to dance in Vegas as well. I live in SoCal and I plan on making a trip to Vegas at least once a month to hang out and work. Can anyone tell me a good club to start in there? After 9/11 I went to CH2 and it was a place I think I would do well. However, I haven't gone to a club in Vegas since. I work for a Spearmint Rhino club here, and I know that there's one in Vegas so I could work there as well.

Would someone that knows Vegas well give me their personal opinion on what clubs there are best? I trust those here to tell it to me straight. Thanks!

This is always a difficult answer because of how quickly things change here. There were many dancers at Treasures who loved the place and then Dennis Rodman created his fiasco, the lost their liquor license, and then a once good club would up displacing tons of dancers. So what's good today may not be good tomorrow.

In addition, telling you what a good club is may be completely relative. Your question is like asking "What's a good restaraunt in Vegas?". I could refer you to an Italian restaraunt but if you hate pasta, then obviously that was bad advice.

There are many great clubs in Vegas. CH2, Rhino, even Glitter Gulch is a good club for those that know how to work in there. But even that may be bad advice given that some people prefer Play It Again Sams over a busy club like Jaguars/Scores. Your best bet is to just go around to some of the clubs, on a night and shift that you would normally work and do a bit of research as to what is best for YOU.

    ^^ Agreed....

Before I moved to Vegas I had been visiting 7-10 times a year for over 10 years. So I knew what I was getting into. After I moved there and decided to dance I went around to just about every club at the time to see what I liked and thought might work for me.
Ask yourself, do you like big clubs with 100-300 girls working on a busy night? Or smaller more low key places? Just about everywhere there the hustle factor is high, but clubs environments differ alot.
Girls Of Glitter Gulch in downtown Vegas can be a good spot that alot of girls think "oh that place is horrible". It's not a bad club if it fits your personality.
The only clubs I thought were lame on most accounts were the all nude ones. I worked at 2 of them and it wasn't so great. The no alcohol and high fees were drawbacks. The topless clubs just seemed like a better way to go dancing in Vegas for me.
One place I would avoid, The Palomino. It's the only all nude that serves alcohol, it was grandfathered in by law. It's in a crappy neighborhood and really run down. It used to be a great place, but a long time ago.
    Good luck in Sin City!

    Hehe. I like that.

Something you may not know about the Palomino though LV DANCER is that there has been some recent, uh, "issues" going on there. There was a woman GM running the place for a while and evidently she went off the deep end earlier this year. The story was that there was a guy who was bad-mouthing the club to a bunch of cabbies. The club thought it was bad for business so they hired someone who worked in the club (for $6,000) to kill this guy and it would seem as though they did. There are a bunch of people in the club now up for all sorts of murder and conspiracy charges.

Glitter Gulch? Are y'all serious? I've been there twice and both times the women were all wrinkled, unattractive, and SCARY. I think they were all generous with the extras too - they would have to be. Yikes. That is NOT a good club in my opinion.

Personally, I'm a fan of the Crazy Horse Too.

Glitter Gulch is a true diamond in the rough. Many dancers run from that place as a potential place to work when they see it and there actually are a lot of attractive dancers working in there. As far as extras go, it's probably one of the few places in Vegas where it doesn't ever happen. The VIP room is open only surrounded by a glass wall that is somewhat opaque. Anything extra going on would be seen. Second, the place is run by an ex-cop who is very cool. He has a zero tolerence policy for it. Talk to the dancers in there...they love the management. Many dancers have even said they can make more money at CH2 or Rhino but choose to stay at the Gulch because it's such a great place to work and the money is easy.

The thing about the place is that it's all impulse buyers, so it's not like you are going to be taking many 1/2 hour trips to the VIP room. But the selling is much easier in there for 2 or 3 dances at a time and it's VERY easy to sell. It's not the best club in Vegas, but it's definitely on my short list of best places to work.

I am starting to look at houses right now. I havent' decided on the area I'd like yet, since I'm a single mother. But the housing market here in SoCal is ridiculous. For around $300K out here I can't get a pot to piss in nor a window to throw it out of. Not even in the friggin ghetto! In Vegas, I can get a nice home for us. I'm from the East coast and I want to have a front and back yard. You can spend $2 million out here and talk to your neighbor from your bathroom window like you're talking over a fence. It's friggin ridiculous. Not to mention that Nevada has no state taxes and for what I live nice on here, I can live very well on there. Not to mention save even more money. The schools here are so awful that I homeschool my child and I can't imagine the schools in NV being any worse.

I basically wanted to know what clubs were "the clubs" right now, since I can go at any time. I know that the dynamics change all the time.

Thank you all for the advice. It is greatly appreciated.

Hm. I found the women at Glitter Gulch to be extremely unattractive. Maybe I just went at a bad time.

The second time I was there, this wrinkled woman who had to be at least 50, with stretch marks and leathery skin and a ton of bad makeup (including fire engine red lipstick on her skinny chicken lips), wearing a SCHOOLGIRL outfit, came over to us and croaked in a raspy voice, "Wanna dance?" Yikes. We ran out of there in short order.

It's like I said earlier though. "THE CLUB" may not be the club for you if it's not what you like. Everything is relative and without knowing much about what you like it's not an easy question to answer. If you are looking for a big and nice, upscale gown club, go to Club Paradise or Rhino. Olympic Gardens, Jags and Sapphire are good on and off and CH2 is usually a good bet. Again though, these are all extremely large big clubs.

Smaller, medium sized clubs to look at include Showgirls on Valley View, Glitter Gulch, or Play It Again Sams.

As far as busy and popular clubs, Spearmint Rhino, CH2 and OG's. These are all big clubs, if that's cool with you. I'd rate Sapphires near the bottom of that list. It's just too damn big and not as popular as everyone predicted. I had ALOT of customers try it and all say it was just TOO big and impersonal and not worth it.
Also Glitter Gulch isn't that bad of a club. Like DW said it's pretty open and not alot of hard core extras go on. The VIP area is visible. There is the benefit off all the tourists who stay downtown for heavy foot traffic there under the canopy on Fremont St.
One other club I forgot to mention to steer clear of is The Can Can Room, that place is a disgrace!

    ^^ Agreed....

    Hehe. I like that.
    Yes, we can agree sometimes....

You mean Striptease on Valley View? Have they changed names? Or is it yet another club?

Yeah, I heard about that. Palomino was always pretty shady and some dark things have happened there over the years. Before I moved to Vegas I bought a house and the realtor I met and bought from knew Rick Tabish (Binions murder fame)...had some real ugly stories about his friendship with him. Oh even today Vegas has a interesting underworld....

Spearmint Rhino, Jaguars, Treasures and maybe Sapphires are the popular ones from what I know and on the glitter gulch issue, if you're a really hot chick and go into a place with ugly chicks, imagine the bank you would make.

My favorite clubs so far are Club Paradise and Crazy Horse II. I didn't work @ CH2, but I will if I go back to Vegas. I also worked at Speramint Rhino. I made some excellent money there, but I've also never, in all my years, sat in a club for 5 hours without being able to sell a single dance because there was about a 7:1 dancer/customer ratio. Left a bad vibe.

I think I remember her as having a bad bleach-blonde with dark roots. But I can't be sure. This was in February. I agree, it is very sad. We never went back to GG after that; we stuck mostly to the Crazy Horse Too. And there was the one memorable trip to the Chicken Ranch, but that's a different story altogether.

Hehe...actually, that was us. DancerWealth=Naked Assets (comany name). Pleasures actually is a really great club on a lot of levels and really bad on others. Unfortunately the bad outweighs the good. The layout of the club is very simple in design but very pretty inside. It's more upscale for a medium sized club and it's a very comfortable environtment from the customer and dancer standpoint. The challenge though is two-fold. First is the location. It's probably the worst location you could ever imagine building a club next to the Leopard Lounge. It's out of the way, difficult to get to, and virtually hidden on a back road surrounded by dark industrial buildings. The cabbies avoid it and so does everyone else for that matter. I've actually been in there on a Saturday night at 11PM and there were three customers in there.

The owner's name is Brad and he's a really cool guy actually. He's a land-developer who wanted to open a strip club so then opens Pleasures on some land he got cheap. Not knowing anything about the business, he brought in a bunch of buddies who supposedly knew a lot about the business but didn't have a clue anymore than Brad did. I actually established a good working relationship with Brad and he allowed us to teach our seminars in there on Sundays when the club was closed which was great. In exchange, we did some marketing work for him, trained some of his staff, etc. Life was good. The other person we worked with was a woman named Melinda...an ex dancer turned manager. She was just awesome! She was kind of a house-mom/manager and always went above and beyond to take care of the dancers there. She called me up one day telling me she quit because she couldn't take the stupidity of the general managemnt. Not working with them much, I started seeing the effects of them when the next week their DJ quit too. This guy was incredible...a true gem in this business. When he left, I started seeing the writing on the wall. There was this wannabe Vegas Goombah general manager in teh club who was put in place by the owner because of association, not because o of experience or brains. He started giving me a bunch of grief one night when I was there and I couldn't figure it out. I'll never forget the last conversation I had with him. He said we weren't helping the club very much and said that he didn't want us doing the seminars in there anymore. This is right after the previous two weeks where we got them setup on a radio interview on one of the big Vegas mornings shows and brought a bachelor party into the club two nights earlier where we spent about $15K that night. I laughed in his face and left. Brad later called me and appologized asking me back but I told him I'd pass.

All this said though, I really wish the club had a better location and better brains at the top because it has a lot of potential to be a nice club. I just found it odd that the guy who owns the place who is in real estate forgot the single most important rule of real estate...LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION!

No offense to any managers here, but I personally have never met any strip club manager with more than a high school education (if that). None of them knew how to conduct a business, they were always too busy:

    - doing drugs
    - f*cking the girls
    - playing "Quien es mas macho" with the other employees

I never understood why business owners trusty their money to these idiots. My old manager asked me if I wanted to take over the club to see if I could do better. I told him I would, but I didnt' want to take a cut in my earnings...

I've met some very cool club managers in my travels and not all of them fit into any of the categories you listed Minah. Unfortunately they are in the minority.

I reccomend CH2- Rhino is "the club" right now but sometimes its so packed that it works against you not for you. Sappphire is great- it is REALLY big but its always packed during convention season and has more tourists looking to spend $$ and less locals. But CH2 has the most consistent stream of traffic.. and the VIP is easier to sell because there are no bar tabs like there are at Sapphire, only a 2 drink minimum.

    Hello,

Well I don't live in Vegas but I can sure tell you were to go in that my Uncle lives there and im just about there every month if not every other month on conventions and fun.. My suggestion would be Cheetahs. Its a very nice club to start out at. After getting used to the scene try out spearment. The Spearment in Vegas is not total nude like the ones in CA but its still very classy like the ones in LA. Send me a pic also and I can check u out...

I took the DancerWealth seminar and worked at Pleasures for quite a while (he and his partner at the time came in to visit me). It was very good when it was good, but things began to go downhill when the management changed and gimick acts, like midget wrestling, were brought in for entertainment in lieu of girls. Also, what began as a gowns in the evening club took a spiral into something more and more classless. What was once enjoyable became a place to dread.

Getting discouraged, I tried the Rhino. It is HUGE with tons of girls working even in the daytime. Even though I never bought my way offstage, sometimes I wouldn't go up AT ALL due to the sheer number on shift. The money was fine enough, but the atmosphere was cold and no one rememberd your name. Also, beware of the customers paying the doorman in the VIP to convieniently go away allowing a dancer to be put in a potentially scary predicament. After a bad experience along these lines and not getting any support from management, I left.

Though I miss dancing, these experiences can leave one discouraged about Las Vegas.

I've read many threads or posts about Vegas.I would like to try it out someday.(Right now might be good cuz money is bad in Wisconsin)A friend of mine danced at CHEETAHS and she hated it.She said the "extras" were done right in the open and that the other dancers were mean.Saying things like "you from closed leg state and closed legs don't get fed around here."She said you can make money without doing extras but it was really difficult.I've never done extras and I won't,but I need to make some real cash.

Poppi, this business is about the same everywhere. Some dancers who are new or have never traveled the coun try to work seem to think in big glitzy cities the money is flowing like water. It's not.

In reality only about 20% of the customers are spending money on dances in quantity anywhere you go. All clubs have a lesser amount of money spending customers, and in major markets like Vegas you still have less money spending customers than years past and waaaaay more dancers competing for that small shrinking piece of money spending pie.

When you say money is bad in Wisconsin, where in Wisconsin? Is the customer count lower, are you working with more dancers than you used to, is the average age of the customers younger, or do you have the same amount of customers, but less older money spending ones?
