From the Denver Post:
Rights battle pits strippers, community
How could the residents of Centennial do this to strippers?
Don't they know that most adult entertainers are only working their way through law school?
Lawyer or stripper? Occasionally, it's difficult to discern which profession is the shadier...
Citizen activists (and who isn't one these days?) say they are intent on protecting their community, no matter how "classy" the entertainment, and despite the constitutional legality of stripping.
And they have every right to persuade their legislators to regulate strip joints out of business... [Really? as far as I can determine, the constitution still applies to Colorado]
...Schwartz believes the controversy is a "tempest in a teapot," and I may agree.
But, then again, I don't live in Centennial. My children don't attend the nearby day care or eat at the local restaurants.
Is this a question of freedom? Perhaps. But also a question of community.
Yeah, we all know that's how clubs attract customers. Like they are going to be passing out flyers at the local Chili's and Kinder Care. Please.
