    Default Skin tones and Colors

I was wondering what you ladies wear that works best with your unique skin tone...

I'm not pale, I've got a pretty natural tan, not very dark, (I can't get it dark ) but certain colors (orange, light green, baby blue...) look awful on me.

I've found that strong, vivid dark colors work best on me, I get the most compliments... but I was looking for opinions in general.

I went to some site... maybelline or CG... they helped a bit, but sometimes I want to experiment and I'm not sure what's safe to try.

I wish I had a darker complexion - bright colors look so hot on the dark girls - but my roots are strictly UK. Ugh.

Hmmmmmm I think anyone can wear colorful shades..
Steer away from neons, though. Please. In grade 11 I work hot pink eye makeup. *hangs self* OK, repressed memory. Natural tan? T-T Lucky you. I'm milk white.
I'd go for violet...medium shades of blue, grey, green....I'm a personal fan of black but you have to know how to work it haha. Champagne, iridescent white and shimmery light shades would look nice on you, turquoise and navy bring out a tan really nicely.

What color is your hair now? Is it still reddish?

I think that you would look good with more natural colors on the eyes and using a light reddish/pink lipstick/lipgloss.

There are really no rules for make-up color applications. The only thing that really matters is HOW it is applied. If you find a color that really "pops" your eyes, but, normally the color doesn't look good on you...then you use it very sparingly in application, but in places where it'll do the most good. The best thing that you can do is just go crazy experimenting. That's actually how I found some of my fave color combos. I usually don't like pink/blue combo, but I found a way to put it on that looks good.

    Hope that helps!

Yeah, turquoise really does bring out the little pigment that I do have.

Black actually isn't too bad on me. Most of my outfits are colored, though I have a black tube dress with ripped holes, and a more elegant type with slits all up the sides.

I'll try the whites. I have this two piece outfit, it's lavender and white, god is it hot, it makes me look like a little pixie, and I saw the same one in cream, I think I'll check it out.

    Thanks for the advice =)

Yeah, I usually wear a shiny gloss with a really natural tint, milky pink or just clear.

Experimenting is so much fun... I have found that my eyes do not like dark colors. Eyeliner has to be a light charcoal or a natural shade of brown...

You're definitely right about natural colors. I can't do the metallic blues and greens like the other girls... though personally I think it's really hot.

I'm mixed and anemic, so I'm Pale Yellow, for lack of a better term. I looks good in jewel tones and dark colors. Reds, black, gold, dark greens... they all look good on me. I cant wear pinks usually, or blue-less yellows, or orange. It makes me look sickly and TOO yellow. I have only a pair of thigh highs that have yellow, orange, and pink in them, but I wear them with a lot of black so it helps... I like white on me. Im not too pale or too caucasian that white is overkill.
