    Default Proactive ?

    Hi

Just wondering if anyone has tried proactive ?

I seem to be getting really awfull acne-usually it's just before my period but lately it's all the time. So am going to try taking motherwort as it's supposed to regulated hormones at certain times of the month.
But in the mean time I was told about proactive that stuff good old jessica simpson is advertising.

Anyone tried it does it work ?

BTW when I say acne I mean like one or two really bad bad zits that take ages to go, and also been suffering from open pores.

Not sure if pro active is more for all over facial acne ?

I haven't, but my sister's had kinda bad acne and tried it. I asked her how she liked it and she said it was OKAY, but not what she expected. It's really expensive for these tiny little bottles, she said she wasn't going to get any more of it. Try Arbonne's clarifying mask. Their products work really well for me! Are you drinking enough water and veggies? I've found that I break out when I drink too much soda or junk-food.

Drinking at least 3 litres of water a day, but I could probably do with uping my fruit n veg intake.

Where do you get the Arbonnes mask from ?

I've been using an imitation brand called Acne Free for a few days and have seen some results already. I got it at Costco, but I've seen it tons of places. It's pretty cheap.

you can go to arbonne's website and locate a consultant in your area... it's like Avon. I became a consultant just to get a super discount on the stuff. Otherwise, it's pretty expensive! A simple facial once every two weeks or so works wonders, too. Just more expensive. But yea, definately try a mask.

i use proactive. i've talked about it on other threads. i used to have acne all over my face, the kind that hurt. but i'm good to go now. an occasional zit, that's all. it is around 45 bucks including shipping and handling for a two months supply. but i use such a small amount that i only get it every six months. my sister used it. her acne wasn't that bad to begin with so when she wasn't impressed she sent it back and got the money back gaurantee. it works for me. that's all i can say.

I wouldn't use it for just 2-3 zits, that is not acne. I had the same problem and I tried Proactiv but it is soooooo strong it made my complexion worse - red face, peeling, etc. It was awful!!! Proactiv is for the SERIOUS cases. I do use it for spot treatment, but I will only use just the lotion or just the toner. It is a great product, but REALLY strong!!

I never tried it. I've been looking for the right one, not the glutonate one. My gyno switched my BC pill to estrostep, so I'm seeing how this changes things first.

I am still on the lookout for the right zinc.

I tried ProActiv when I was 21, 23, 25, and 28. All failures. My youngest sister tried it too. It didn't work.

It made our skin red, flaky and dry. Our acne seemed to get worse. If my skin is not hydrated, I break out. Also, if I drink too much diet colas, I really, really break out.

The product must work for some. The testimonials on the informericial are amazing. However, everyone is different. One product does not fit all.

I use Peter Thomas Roth's line (very expensive) in the winter and Retin-A in the summer. Both work wonders for me. I can't guarantee the effects for anyone else. Again, we are all different.

I use proactive...I wasn't that bad to begin with but I still like it. It has really helped to reduce the size of my pores and clean out all the black and whiteheads. I still get zits but they don't last long at all and I get far fewer than I did. I've only been using it for a month.

I just bought acne free. for twenty bucks.. why not? Can't have too many beauty products, right?

I'll see how it works.. the repairing creme has a little less then 4 percent benzyol peroxide, but my benza clin has like 5 percent as prescription.. so we'll see.

I really liked it, but had to use it every other day to keep my skin on track.

I've used proactiv for face and butt acne (yeah I know it's gross) and got minimal results. What actually worked to clear my pimples for good is clean and clear products. They are pretty cheap and can be found at the drug or grocery store. I use the morning burst cleanser in the morning and evening, toner in the bad areas, persa gel 10 medicine (benzoyl peroxide solution) on any blemishes, and their moisturizer all over my face and ass. No more pimples for me, I finally graduated from puberty, yay!

Eh, mixed results for all kinds of products. It's just about finding what's right for your skin. I've found that for my skin, Benzoyl Peroxide products clear my skin and keep it healthy. Products with Salycilic acid make me break out pretty badly. Proactiv has worked wonders for me, but it's also about keping your body healthy first, and then helping it along with products. Drinks lots of water, and try your hardest to de-stress as often as possible. Lots of water helps keep my skin stay nice.

I've tried it...it's okay, it helps somewhat...it keeps the redness that zits usually cause away, but it didn't work as I expected...it's not worth spending $40 on them little ass bottles...I use it only before my period because my face really breaks out bad....try Noxzema...it's a lot cheaper and it works wonders...

Proactive works great....but as with most acne stuff when you switch brands you may break out at first because you're changing the chemicals you put on your face but give it a week or two......and get the mask that proactive makes and use it on single pimples not all over (causes drying) it makes them dissappear waay faster.....you have to use it everyday or every other day

I didn't have that bad of skin to begin with, but then i used proactive cause my girlfriend had an extra kit of it at my house and it actually made me break out really bad. I was so mad. I had never had so many problems with my skin untill after i used that product.

I guess it doesn't work for everyone, but ProActiv was the only thing that ever really worked for me. After a while I didn't need to use all the other products that ProActiv has, and now I only use the cleanser.
I still have the occasional breakout...but its so much better than before.
IMO it's worth a shot to see if it works
