    Default Hooters

Now that I'm married I've decided to quit dancing because the contact of it all really urks my man. I am just so good at hustling with my sexuality tho, I still need an air of flirtation and semi-good tips while I finish school. Anyone here work for Hooters before? I think that's where I'm headed. You think the money is ok? I have a tattoo on my arm, do you think that makes me exempt?

We had some threads on this, prev. Basically, the consensus was, it suked. From what I read/understood, the $ is/was not that great, mgt are Major jerks, scheduling crappy, etc. You can try & apply, if you want. Everyone seemed to agree that regular waitressing, or cocktail watiressing was far better.

Just don't try it in Brevard Co. IT SUCKS. It's all little girls with padded bras for starters. They are ALWAYS slow, even on bike night every Friday.

I ate there a few times in the past and actually felt sorry for them. They have to sit with the guys, flirt and keep them wanting more, seems they are just not trained in how to do this.

    Odd place.

Back in the days when I left home and was trying to make some decent money, held all kinds of jobs in the service and retail industry.
Had a Hooters job for a month, not bad. Back then I was one of them little girls with padded bras. Hell, those guys didn't give a damn. I was female, and that was it. And I had a great time.

Until every Friday when I got my pay.
Oh well, what can I say, you don't look out for yourself, nobody will do it for you.

I enjoyed my stay at Hooters, but you can't work, and I did work, above, over and beyond the call of duty, helped in the kitchen, helped the drunks back to their cars, heard hours and hours of BS from the customers, cleaned floors, etc. for nothing.

Let's say this, I did not feel bad about leaving that place. Made great friends, but they can't feed you. You got to feed yourself.

What about waitressing at the club you are at now?

actually its a pretty goodplace to work. I did it when I was barely 18 and I made good money while in my first year of college. It was fun and easy. I pretty much bartended for the last 9 months or so until I decided to strip.

It helped with dealing with people that I deal with now because you spend more time talking to them. They give you classes on alcohol awareness etc so you can spot intoxicated people better.

Imho though I think there are far more of the dirty girls at hooters than in strip clubs. And they tend to get away with it. I think probably 40% of the girls I worked with were screwing customers for extra money. management doesnt care once the lights go off.

I heard they schedule way too many girls - you know, they need plenty of t & a - so you really only end up with 3 or 4 tables a night. Of course different locations may vary a little, but I'm betting most of them overschedule like that.

Give it a shot though, it could be worth it.

Hot doggie, I never realized there were so many Hooters veterans here.
    Including me.
Work is not hard but tedious. Be ready to flip hashes, burgers, etc, and be ready to haul pitchers after pitchers of beer.
Pay, yeah, you can live with it only if you live modestly. After gas, rent and utility, not much left. Tips, $$20 to $30 per week. I thought that was a lot back then, ignorant me.
OTH (Outside Hooters). Never done any. Never kept any tally on who was sleeping with who, so I can't guess or give any ratios or percentages.
Stayed seven months, enjoyed it, but only if your attitude is right.
Come in to work. Not flirt.

Yeah, I know this thread needs another former Hooters testimonial, but here goes.
I worked at Hooters for nearly a year.
It was good job, but like Shady said above, only if you got the right attitude.
Hooters is not some fancy dancy place. Goodl Ole boys come here, and ya gotta treat'em right. An' if ya do dat, dey will treat ya right. Ya got that honey? Darn right!
No kidding aside, the people that I worked with good down to earth folks. No BS.
At least, that was where I worked. Later on, I began to hear horror stories such as hooking and selling sex under the counter.
My opinion? Krap like this happens anywhere you work. You hear rumours.
With my hustiling, I could have probably made a little money selling it. But this kind of stuff just leads to mroe and more problems and a big fat mess down the road.
Like it said above, get a good attitude and a get a grip. You will make it and also have a good time while working. Good Luck.

Hun our Hooters SUCKS!!! I have talked to my roomies (old roomie) friend Who worked there before going to Lido's strip club.

She has tiny boobies, so she wore TWO padded bras! I am at walgreeens alot and Hooters is right next door, these GIRLS...gosh here it looks very strange imo, will come in to buy smokes, and i swaer they have something wrong with their boobs!!!!! Lol. The boobs are pushed up really high, and one is lower or something is out of place. I would just be me, you will do fine. It's a family place, i hate the food and prices, but alot of families are there!

When you get guys, or a guy....Yep the name of the game is FLIRT! They want to see you super friendly...bring these guys back.

Well, I do not know where Shady and Giselle worked, but my time at Hooters blowed.
Tried going into work, and the male staff, as well as the patrons (not with a family, single men) love to flirt. Where I worked, there was not enough help. Me and three other girls had to work all the tables. And it was a job too.
It wouldn't be so bad, if you could just walk up and take orders, deliver oders, refill coffee, bring beers, write out the ticket, and that was all there was to it.
But they don't, guys grab you by the arm, make you sit down, and talk to them, blah, blah, blah.
Once after a shift, I came home, and I was in a grumpy mood. Sis asked me, why I was not in my ususal cheerful mood. You are not smiling, she said. I told her, if I had to smile one more time, my face would fall off.
Sorry, I can't recommend this, not at ALL!

I quit dancing when I got hired by Hooters this past Semptember and I MISS DANCING! The most I made on a shift was $87. I am just about broke and have used pretty much all of my stripper savings in the past 2-3 months because I am not making any money at Hooters. I will be going back to stripping very soon and I say to hell with Hooter's. It was my dream to work there, but it has become my hell.

Managment treats me like I am "on call", I get daily phone calls to come into work so I usually do just to make a few extra bucks, but it's never worth it when you go home with a lousy $30. Where I work it is just a bunch of cheap men who can't afford a strip club, and they will even tell me that. I also have people pay their bill to the exact cent every day, and leave without tipping. This is usually the case when it is a family, families never leave tips and neither do foriegners , I get lots of them.

I work in Detroit so you'd think it would be decent, but it's not. I wouldn't recommend Hooter's to anyone. They threatened to fire me my first week on the job because I was not available to work weekdays or nights. I told them that school came first, but they said they would terminate me if I didn't work weekdays. So I ended up having to drop classes just to accomodate Hooter's. Even after becoming available on Tues and Thursday, they still schedule me on the wrong days, and just this week when I say I am going out of town...they still schedule me.

I like to travel and be free to do as I wish. Stripping is perfect for me right now, even though I don't like it and complained all the time. I now realise it is the best option for my lifestyle.

I also should add that you are required to sit down and talk to customers at Hooters, the only difference between the 2 is your covered up and you don't have to give lap dances. Plus you're busting your ass getting wings to fat guys trying to make a good tip, but it won't happen.

I should have listened to what everyone else said on here in the first place, but I guess we all have to see for ourselves.

My buddy who dances with me used to work at Hooters. She said as a woman of color, they usually only hire 1-3, 3 being the most. She said that the women who work at Hooters are more catty than strippers! She told me there is CONSTANT drama going on, and so much favoritism. For some odd reason, I still want to try my luck at it. I'm going to wait until our baseball season though. Since our Hooter's is on the river, the patrons come to Hooter's in full swing in the spring!

Found this on The Smoking Gun website. Are these rules enforced? Seems like an awful lot to adhere to for making so little money.

Hooter's food absolutely sucks. No woman, no matter how gorgeous, even one letting you go A2M, makes up for it.

I'm saddened to say this couldn't be more correct.

Every time I've visited Hooters, doesn't matter what location, or what time of day/night, there is always one creepy looking guy who comes in, sits at the bar, orders a single beer and sits there for like an hour. During that time, he will ogle every waitress in the joint, leave a small tip at best, maybe play with the bartop video game and leave. Its almost like its a SC with no nudity and no cover charge to them.

Yes, they are very strict there. Today was my day off and they called me twice today to come in and work. I am sick of being treated like I am on call. I decided to put in 2 weeks, but I actually would rather make it a 1 week notice. I am going back to dancing tomorrow night, so I am willing to finish off my schedule this week. I did not give them a request form for the following week, but I figure I will tell them I took a new job and start training that week. Hopefully I will still be on good terms after I leave.

When I was feeling burned out from dancing a couple years ago, I applied at Hooters but was never hired. It's funny because I totally fit the stereotype of a Hooters Girl-blond hair, big boobs. Well, it turned out to be a blessing in disguise because I know someone who worked there and she hated it. She said the money was no better than waitressing at a regular restaurant, and you have to put up with a lot of crap.

Their food isn't the greatest, but like Chris Rock said, no one goes to Hooters for the wings. LOL I like their Philly Cheesesteak sandwich, but I'm not too impressed with Hooters' wings. I'd rather go to Buffalo Wild Wings.

I actually pissed off a Hooters girl in Upstate NY. We went in for lunch and it was slow. Ordered a beer while we were looking at the menus. She brought the beers and sat down to talk to us and asked me what I did, so I told her. She said she was tired of being compared to strippers blah, blah, blah....whatever. Just what I needed, a diatribe with my pint.

I told her I didn't think she should be compared to strippers either because we actually MAKE money. That shut her up and we decided not to order and left.

Blondhottie and I must have the same species of taste buds. I like BWW's Medium sauce myself.

Just stay away from Hooters bacon cheeseburgers. They'll start a flash flood in your intestinal tract. So I've heard.
