I knew places like this still exist, but I still find it to be quite disturbing.....Ew.

Blah.. Very disturbing indeed.

The Reed Dance is a big tourist attraction. You can take photos of hundreds of topless virgins dancing. You can't do that in a strip club.![]()

Thank God I live in America!
you guys are so happy for them. uuughh Too bad 40% of people are dying of Aids over there. if you get turned on thinking of Virgin dances, you need to get your head checked, a bunch of 13 year olds dancing naked does not fly in America! SICK.Originally Posted by SportsWriter2
The 6 minutes of pleasure is NOT worth AIDS. There is a fine line, however, since these are generations old traditions, it's hard to show them that what they are doing is wrong. We also must remember that years ago girls were married at 13-14 as a rule, not the exception here in America. And in some states, you do NOT need to be 18 or anywhere near it to marry on your own.
[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]Do unto others as you would have them do to you...it's less work to be nice than it is to be evil!
"Miss ChiChi, if you was my girl you would never cry from anything...except maybe happiness."
Who's fault is it that 40% of the population has AIDS?Originally Posted by alicia0033
There are a lot of people (and I mean A LOT) who think topless dancing by women is SICK.
Human beings are very interesting creatures indeed.
Caveat: I however, wouldn't find much fun in boinking 13 year olds. The incessant prattling on about her friend "Melissa's grape flavored lipstick" and how the latest Tiger Beat heart-throb would "SOOOO LOVE to kiss her and then marry her because her lips are SO SWEET" would drive me nuts. I don't know how pedophiles do it.
Taking this further though, it might be that we are extending immaturity in our culture. Teenagers can get pregnant - so one cannot say it is "unnatural" to have teenage reproduction. Obviously it is naturally possible - there are no test tubes involved.
So what is the discontent about boinking 13 year olds??? And then I thought about my own dislike about such a thing and realized it is because someone would be taking advantage of an immature person. I mean emotionally, most teenage girls would qualify for the special olympics (and I am including the 19 years in that too!)
I am thinking in Swaziland, one might have to grow up pretty damn fast over there just to keep food in the belly and not to be - literally - eaten by lions.
I remember watching on one of those shows where families would go over and live the life of a primitive tribe. Now that I am connecting the dots, the teenage girls from the west would be like "EWWWWW - MUD!" while the teenage girls in the tribe would be pulling critters out of holes, bonking em on the head, processing the critter and everyone would be eating critter stew (to which the teenage child of the west would be crying "EEWWWWW Critter Strew!")
What I am saying, is the kids in Africa are out there hunting and killing and feeding and clothing themselves compared to "MOM! Why caaaaan't I have 50 dollars for those jeans!?!?!"
That the Swazi teenager is certainly part of a survival unit compared to the western teenage who is basically STILL dependent (like an infant) upon the parents for food, shelter, and clothing.
But then again - I didn't read anywhere where the Swazi king is married to 13 year olds. They are just in training for the tradition and see it as a passage into adulthood.
(Perhaps this is why Blue Lagoon was so controversial - it puts into western faces that we infantile our "young adults" and if left on their own - they would be able to feed, clothe, and shelter themselves like "young adults.")
There was an update to this story. It seems that the daughter of the King, along with several other topless dancing virgins where whipped for refusing to turn the music down. In other words, the King got his jollies watching them dance and have fun for a little while, and then got his jollies off by having them whipped. Sounds like a great guy. Blech.
The daughter of King Mswati III of Swaziland was allegedly whipped by a palace official at a party attended by 50,000 teenage virgins who were vying to become the king's next wife. Princess Sikhanyiso, 17, along with other bare-breasted attendees, were whipped as punishment when they refused to turn down the music, reports Reuters of an article in the Times of Swaziland. The princess was pictured in the newspaper showing her bruises.
I keep getting an ITRC guide with that link.Originally Posted by Rhiannon

Arrrrggh! Tis Good To Be King!
(I think the little "taggers" around here fuckin up the neighborhood should get a public caning.)
Reminds me of stories where nobles would build onto their estates for when the King came simply because he demanded it - and they would tear down walls too! Imagine Bush saying "You need to tear down that wall and put up a couple more rooms." Oh wait... I guess the faceless government DOES have a lot to say about our houses already (including if you can put a house trailer in a "reputable" suburb.)
Ah. I kind of figured the link wouldn't work.. It's under the "What's New" tab on the homepage.
The full story is below, though.
Princess Whipped for Her Loud Music The daughter of King Mswati III of Swaziland was allegedly whipped by a palace official at a party attended by 50,000 teenage virgins who were vying to become the king's next wife. Princess Sikhanyiso, 17, along with other bare-breasted attendees, were whipped as punishment when they refused to turn down the music, reports Reuters of an article in the Times of Swaziland. The festival is part of a time-honored, ancient tradition in Swaziland in which virgins who are older than 13 compete for the king's attention and the possibility of becoming his wife. The king currently has 12 wives and is seeking a thirteenth. But at this festival, the bare-breasted virgins who dance for the king in the Reed Dance ceremony refused to turn down the volume on music that palace officials considered too loud. The official who was in charge of the young ladies denied whipping them, and the palace was not available for comment.
The ceremony is meant to celebrate womanhood and virginity, but critics say it's nothing more than a "shop window for the 37-year-old king to choose young brides," reports Reuters. During the ceremony, the girls carry long reeds and are accompanied by men who are dressed in animal-skin loin cloths with porcupine quills in their hair. Swaziland is a nation of 1 million people and is located in Africa between South Africa and Mozambique.

It is stealing the girls' childhoods to force them to think about being married at 14 or having sex. Further this likely forces the pre-14 yr olds, both male and female, to emulate their king's depraved behavior. That society is going down.
I loved going to strip clubs; I actually made some friends there. Now things are different for the clubs and for me. As a result I am not as happy.
Customers are not entitled to grope, disrespect, or rob strippers. This is their job, not their hobby, and they all need income. Clubs are not just some erotic show for guys to view while drinking.
NOTE: anything I post here, outside of a direct quote, is my opinion only, which I am entitled to. Take it for what you estimate it is worth.

I kind of agree with the comment when you're going out and killing things to make stew out of them and doing your own survival stuff, childhood is already O-VER. *shrug*
I think it is better for people to live in a culture of plenty. But those people don't. Pretending won't change that.
Western culture isn't all that far removed from that. It wasn't all that long ago that the first period meant the girl was marrying age in europe and even America.Originally Posted by thechaosfairy

Yep. The changes mainly took place only in the last century and change, for us. They have yet to occur in a lot of parts of the world.
