Relief efforts for those harmed by hurricane Katrina.

If anyone has found any other websites with information re: where you can make a donation to help the Gulf States, please post it. I've not found much other than this one

    linktoinfo

Also, on the news this evening, there was a woman who said she is diabetic and needs insulin. Another family has a premature baby needing oxygen, and a monitor which can run only so long on batteries. And no telling when they'll get their electricity back again. Are there any specific places to help them, or is it best to stick with the Red Cross or Salvation Army for hurricane relief donations?

And do they need blood donations? I can't do this because of my own medical situation, but several my of relatives will asap.

Btw, I've just read Dan's post in Dollar Den, and there's a lot of good information there!

The point is, we can all do something, no matter how small.

I am worried about some friends of ours who are stationed at Biloxi.. the base there is 95% destroyed... I will be making a few calls in the morning to see what I can do to help... this is absolutely horrible.. and now as I'm watching the news, they've announced levies have broken.. and the city of New Orleans is going to be underwater soon??

    http://www.secondharvest.org/
    http://www.redcross.org/
http://www.salvationarmyusa.org/ They also have a way to get ahold of family and friends
http://www.foodforthepoor.org/ Their donations are going to feed people that are now
    homeless

Those are the ones that actually will make sure that all of the donations are going to make it to the people that need help.
