Default Who's dancing in Portland tonight? (8/31)

We're up here looking at apartments and had the chance to hit Lush and Union Jack's last night and might try to hit another couple of clubs tonight. Anyone from here working so we can come and say hi?

Also, we're looking for a nice condo/apt downtown, preferably a 2-2, and we're aware of the costs. Any suggestions on good buildings are welcome.

Oh, I love Portland. What a terrific city. Can't wait to be here!

I'll be in Salem tonight, but that is about 50 miles south of you.

For the Apartment thing, try to get a parking space included. That will save you so much money as public Transportation is really lousy in Portland. And paying for parking is like $20-30 a day.

Northwest Portland is the most desireable, but the Hawthorne area is fun and has a lot of personality. I love to just park and walk around and have lunch etc. in both of those neighborhoods. I used to work in Northwest Portland, and found it to be a really nice area.

Try to avoid the Hollywood district, not a very safe neighborhood. Also the Lloyd Center area, Convention Center area, and the waterfront have all been scenes of recent violence, some of it really random and not gang related at all. The crazy thing is that the waterfront area is the most expensive. John's Landing has some super nice condos and townhomes, but we are talking in the $500,000.00 range.

Good luck on the house hunt! Keep me posted as to when you will be here to stay!

Are you serious? We have found the trains and streetcars to be pretty great so far.

We looked at a couple near that range; think we'll be renting to start with. We really want to stay near the Pearl/downtown area so we can walk to Whole Foods and the clubs when we want to go out. Ultimately though we want to buy a place near Mount Hood and keep a smaller apt in the city.

Have a great night tonight! Wish we were up for the drive.

    Just stay away from Southeast!
The St Johns area is nice if you want cheaper rent, the bad thing is its farther from downtown. But if you can afford Northwest, do it.
Unfortunately, I am not dancing til Saturday.
Are you planning to work here? If so, do you know where you want to dance?
    Have fun in Pornland!
