    Best type of outfit?

I'm thinking about returning to dancing after about a year concentrating on getting my life back in order. While reading through he forums I see a lot of links to sites to buy cheap dancer outfits to build a beginning wardrobe but I think it would be a good idea to get opinions on what type of outfits are best for beginning dancers or those of us returning to the art form.

So... What type of outfits do you find to the be best to learn and gain experience for dancing before moving up to more complicated costumes? When starting should you stay with skirt/short sets, gowns and bikini's? or is it best to jump right into intricate costumes and pants sets (which I believe would be a little tricky getting over 5-8 inch heals/boots)? and should you try to stay away from certain types of outfits all together?

I have a very elegant lace dress, off-the-shoulder with long sleeves, and a lace French panty to go under it. I also have a pin-up girl outfit - shimmery cherry-red push-up bra and knickers, with a tiny white pleated skirt that has cherries all over it. When I wear the pinup girl outfit, I paint my lips cherry red and do a 50's pinup girl hairdo. Both really make me stand out, but the pinup girl outfit seems to make me the most money.

Starting out I found that outfits that made me feel sexy... like playing a character (maid, cowgirl, cleopatra, schoolgirl, etc.) made me the most money. It's kind of like getting into a role, you can play the part easier if you are dressed the part.
Some nights I would get up in a strapless tee or white wife beater, men's boxers with a white thong underneath, white athletic socks, and toss my hair in loose pigtails and that would make me KILLER money. Lose the boxers first so your dancing in a tight white tank, white thong and bright white sox. Men would eat up that look.... something about having a hot little athlete dancing in front of them drove them WILD!

it really depends on what you like to wear.If you want to wear simple things..go right ahead. If you want elaborate costumes go for it.Just be sure to practice taking it off at home before taking it on stage. Pants can be tricky so practice alot. Also try to find really strechy ones or chaps.

I like the mini dresses, tube dresses, and rompers but I'm a little self conscious about my tummy and only dance topless so I just tend to pop by boobs out.
