I was just there this week as a customer. Looks like they were running about 8-10 girls on a Tuesday night. I would assume that like most Portland clubs they do have a schedule, but I don't think it's as rigid as in some places. Very hip club and a good place to hang out. I have no idea what kind of money you would make there, though. Very stage-focused. It is certainly on my list of places to check out when I move up there.

They have a schedule. You have to turn in a piece of paper every thursday with the days checked that you want to work. Then you have to call and confirm that you got the days you wanted. Less attractive girls may be told they cannot work weekend nights or even nights at all. Day shifts are not worth your time. There are also fees for canceling or missing a shift, $5 per cancel and $10 if you don't call in.

thanks....anyone else?
This is a little old, but I've danced in many places in Portland and a lot of girls speak pretty negatively about UJ... I guess that they overbook dancers like crazy and the russian mafia management (no joke... check the oregonian archives, or willamette week ones?) can be overbearing. Even for really hot goth/alternative girls (which they seem to bill themselves as chock full of) seem to have a hard time working there.
Honestly, I might still give it a shot... but I'm pretty cautious.

They overbook like crazy. Its almost impossible to make money. The club is really tiny and sometimes there were 25 girls working...2 stages and air dances only doesn't equal money. I've heard they cut down on girls working in the last month, but I'm not sure that they will keep it up.

That plus they don't approach anyone! I don't know if this is SOP in Portland or not, but I didn't see any dancers at UJs try to sell dances at all. We tipped every girl on every set and not one came over to our table--and believe me, we would have been an easy sell.
