    Default Dating Dancers

First off I've dated alot of dancers , this seems to be mostly what I attract so its not a choice its a circumstance.
I'm not saying its a statis symbol in fact if given the choice I try to avoid being involved romanticaly with women in the adult industry because of the drama that usually follows , but that being said I also believe you cant pick who you attract, who you are attracted to or who you fall in love with so if the right woman came along and she was a dancer so be it .
now how I seem to end up with dancers so often ? That I dont know.
I'm not especially good looking , I dont make tons of money , and all in all I'm just an average joe.
My theory is that its just because I'm a night person , most of the jobs I've had are night jobs so thats who I come into contact with . I've worked in SC's and reguler clubs on and off since the early 90's so maybe its just law of averages at play .
plus because of the hours I usually work its very hard to keep a relationship with a woman who works 9-5.
reasons being that when she wants to go out I'm at work and even though at first its fun for her to hang out at my job it gwts old real quick to be at the same club every weekend when you dont work there .
so with a 9-5 girl I end up only getting to spend time with them once or twice a week.
dancers how every tend to work the same hours as me so we can hang out more and such .

now here is the myth , many of you guys who havent dated dancers dream about doing so because you think it will be glamerous and exiteing (NEWS FLASH) it is not the case .
Think about it if every night you had to have your makeup perfect , hair perfect , a string up your ass and had to walk around in 6 - 9 inch heels all night that would be the LAST thing you wanted to do on your off time.
So when you and if you DO end up with a dancer you'll most likelly see her most of the time wearing sweats , no makeup , baggy shirts , flipflops, old ratted out robe etc etc .... And that is perfectly understandable .

Now a dancer friend of mine did suggest that the reason I attracted so many dancers is because beccause with all the pervs, stalkers , and the like , it does'nt hurt to have a 6ft5 black guy around the house when she's at home or to pick her up from work.

what the hell...I read the first two sentences (which left a very bad taste in my mouth) and I chanced it and read the rest. I think I'd agree with you. You do look like a scary dude. I can see the appeal.

And just a question....who is that girl in the picture?

Your pole answers don't give anyone a chance to simply answer yes, it was cool. Or maybe Yes, I would do it again but her being a dancer is not a priority.

Your not being very objective or doing a very good job of conceiling your agenda here.

There is a choice missing from your poll:
    you'v got:
I've dated dancers and thats all a want to date
I've dated dancers but would rather not because of the drama that comes with it .
I'll never date one again because of the drama.
which does not seem to include:
    I've dated dancers
without all the conditions. You have made it a choice between being hungup on dating dancers or not wanting to date them at all or having no experience with it.

heh, I never read the poll options because obviously I don't date dancers, but I see that now

I think it's too bad that dating strippers is seen as it is. I'd be an awesome girlfriend.

LOL yes when my friend told me that it was my size and such I was at first offended then when I thought about it , it did have a certain logic .
So if I was to put myself in their place (being a 100+lbs woman working around creepy guys allnight) I think a nice guy with intimidating looks would be apealling .

    How about:

    1. Dated one or more, and would again.
    2. Dated one or more, never would again.
    3. Never dated one, never will.
    4. Never dated one, would like to someday.

I think that would cover it. As it stands now, I couldn't answer your survey. And BTW, there are TONS of "dating dancer" postings ALL over this site, if you're truly looking for insight into different people's opinions.
well I tried to get deeper than yes, no, maybe . I wanted to understand the mentality behing the choice not just the choice itself .
And yes I have found threads on the subject but none of them dealt with the root of the thought process.
the way you would have done the poll would have left me with wore questions in my head .

actually I'm targeting the groups stated in the poll so in that end I am being objective . and as far as an agenda I have none I simply seek knowlege .
I have polls like this on many different subjects in many different forums , on some technology forums I have mac vs linux vs microwsoft . on relationship forums I have bad boy nive guy threads etc etc ....
I am just fasinated buy human interaction on all walks of life and seek to understand what goes into why people choose what .
I try to understand patterns on why type x is attracted to type y or z or even type A .
I wonder why at 6ft5 the women who aproach me are usually 5ft1 .
I wonder why most female pornstars are catholic and male pornstars jewish .
I wonder why most white males are democrats until 35 and turn republican .
I wonder why most biker chic's look so good when they're 17 - 24 then most not all look like hammerd shit by 26(i used to bouce at a biker bar)
I wonder why so many people hate microsoft but still buy it (i use linux).
so I have no agenda I just use forums like this to better understand the thoughts of others .

This is interesting.. sorry a little of topic:
I’m attracted to intelligent, hardworking, loyal, adventures, open-minded yet stable guys..

Sadly, most stable guys wont take dancers seriously cuz they “assume” dancers are unstable.

Most people in my life don’t know I dance, I mention it, and the usual reaction is, “haha that’s cute, you’re too good for that” So, I find myself lying and eventually stop dating before anything gets serious..

Anyway, I find your analogy interesting and I have to agree with several of your points.

nope I think this is on topic or at least a branch of the same topic. so your just fine.

I’m attracted to intelligent, hardworking, loyal, adventures, open-minded yet stable guys..

I agree sadly , but I dont think all dancers are bad , what I mean by drama with dating dancers is usually a byproduct of their chosin field . you know , people coming up to you while your on a date , her girl friends hitting on me(not because they are interested but just to cause trouble) police hassling you when you pick her up for lunch .
owners and managers trying to get her in bed etc etc ....

Most people in my life don’t know I dance, I mention it, and the usual reaction is, “haha that’s cute, you’re too good for that” So, I find myself lying and eventually stop dating before anything gets serious..
dont do that lying is a bad way to start a relationship and dumping him before it gets serious is not fair to him (men have feelings to)
just be honest in the begining and if he can handle it fine if not then no harm no foul .

Anyway, I find your analogy interesting and I have to agree with several of your points.

I also have a regular career so I have no other choice but to keep this in silence. I cant run around telling every guy I go to lunch with I dance.

Also for example, I met a guy in my building I really liked, we dated, I realized he’s an idiot and that was it.. now imagine if I told him, he knows sooo many guys in my building including the management.

BTW: Dancer drama is over rated, most girls who bring drama into a relationship will do so with or without being a stripper.

This one I can answer. The women are short. And they know they are short. I know a few five footers and every one of them are insecure about their height. But who wants a short guy? Now comes along you - definately outside the norms yourself. Your approachable.

(I notice a lot of latina's are not on the tall side either!)

Didn't know about the porn starts. The white guys didn't pay taxes in any amount until they are established. Under Clinton's/Gray's watch, I once paid $40,000 in taxes in my thirties. I haven't voted democratic for major posistions since. (I generally vote independent. I always vote democratic for sheriff's elections.)

I didn't fill out your poll, because I'm not sure if this is off-topic or not. The only dancer I've ever dated was not a stripper. For purposes of your poll, I have to guess you are only referring to dancers who are strippers? In our case, it didn't work out because she was a confirmed "night" person and I'm very much a "daytime" guy, although I can live with a swing shift, if I must. This does support your theory...just not in a SC milieu. While I guess I would consider dating a dancer who is a stripper, I highly doubt she (or, e.g., a woman who works as an accountant for that matter) would want to spend time dating me, considering my own, ahem, idiosyncratic behaviors. And the day/night person difference might still be there...or not...I really don't know.

This is off-topic, but as to a couple of your other polls elsewhere, I'm a white guy who doesn't like either the Democratic or Republican political parties, and therefore I belong to no political party. I also use a notebook which dual-boots into either Linux or Windows and a Mac desktop. So okay, I've never been considered "normal" by any of my family or friends, but there ain't any fun in being one of the "normal" ones in your family or amongst your friends! Now back to your topic at hand!

I am not a byproduct of my chosen field.
-I’ve never had people come up to me on a date
-my friends would NEVER flirt with my man!!
-I don’t need a man to pick me up from work, I drive myself
-no owner or manager tries to get in my pant….. this goes back to working in a professionally run establishment.

Again, I’d like to say: Dancer drama is over rated, most girls who bring drama into a relationship will do so with or without being a stripper.

PhaedrusZ, many strippers are day people, they work the day shift

That does have a certain logic to it . and yes latinaz do tend to be short , I ounce dated a puerto rican woman who said she started dating black guys because all the latin guyz were shorter than her she was 5ft7 but in her culture she was taller than most of the men and in heels she would dwarf them and you know that would'nt go well with the machismo mentality .

Like I said , not all dancers are bad but for some reason it attracts more drama queens than most career fields.

and BTW out of all the dancers I've dated I've only met one in the club the rest I met at places like 7/11 , denny's , a 24hour super market etc etc ..... in other words if your in those places at 4am chances are you have a night job and I say that to say that the times I have dated dancers I didnt know they were dancers when i met them , to me they were just some cute girl in line with me at the waffle house at 3am getting breakfast . and the one dancer I did met at the club before dating had her friend give me her number so I didnt know whitch dancer it was until the date . and yes she was 5ft3 lol

    Agreed on both points.

I've dated two dancers, one seriously the other not so seriously. It didn't bother me either time, but then i'm not the jealous sort and sweats and a t-shirt are fine by me. None of the poll options really apply to me, though. I neither seek out nor run away from people based on what they do (within reason, if someone was selling their body on a streetcorner count me out).

You don't have an option that suits me.

I've never cared whether I date a dancer or not. It's her job, it makes no difference to me. Dancer are not necessarily better looking and may or may not have a better personality than any other girl. They are women, just like every other woman on the planet. They just happen to be willing to take their clothes off for money.

That said, I married a dancer. I didn't date her because she was a dancer, it just happens that she likes dancing for a living. Dancing was really nowhere in the equation for us.

While I do agree with you to some degree , I must say certain profesions attract m0ore of a certain type of person .
and thats across the board .
all stereotypes have roots in reality (thats how they get started) a trait becomes a stereotype when everyone knows someone who falls into that trait . when you think of a stockbrocker , you think of michel douglas in the movie "wall street" and since ENRON we know there is much truth to that stereotype .
now to get back on point , after working with , dating , spending money on , many dancers some are good many are bad .
just through watching them at any club I've worked at out of say 30 dancers only 3 or 4 would be cool, drama free, friendly,
plesant people . at the H.I.W's it would usually be half and half but the bitchy snobby dancers wouldnt last long .

    but thats another rant .
point is there are certain other things that go along with dating women in certain fields that are uniq'e to those fields .

Lots of good stuff here! Date a dancer who does not work consistently anymore. Started out casual going out. We realized we had a lot in common and stuck together 3 years now. We are very comfortable with each other. Don't know if there is long term possibilities. Don't really care. Like to think we will be life long friends at least. Time will tell.
Your different than me . but good luck .
I am looking for long term I outgrew the one night stand and caual dating thing awhile back .
and I have enough friends lol . and in viewing relationships the way I do its hard to find a woman in this day and age dancer or not , because many people take a casual view to dating .

I too have been having problems finding somone for the long term thing. I seem to choose unwisely. I have had some serious near misses. Some say I am smart to never get married - but there they are with their kids laughing and playing and teaching.

Meanwhile I am getting older. I fear my ability to attract a woman who can bear children is getting smaller. I fear my ability to produce swimmers is getting weaker.

I will be in my 50's when my first kid graduates from high school. Who knows how old I would be if my nth kid graduates high school.

I fear I will die on them before they are truly established in the world.

Everyone wants to be young for so long. But you know, in some ways the biology is just not there. I hear the clock ticking.

Everyone wants to be young and carefree - responsible only for themselves.

Now I am all fucking depressed.

I have an issue with this poll. Only reason is there is no option for "I'm currently dating one and things are going great" or "I have dated one and would date them, or a girl that isn't a dancer". My girlfriend is a dancer. Met her at work. Things went from there. I don't mind that she's a dancer any more than she minds that I'm an IT administrator. And if things went south, doesn't have to mean I'd never date another dancer, or that I would only date dancers. Not all dancers are drama-stricken.

In my experience, most women love drama. It's not limited to dancers. Why do you think soap operas are so popular? Personal drama.
