Default when a size 0 is too big...

I really don't want to have to go back to shopping at limited too.....

Does anyone know of any good sites for stylish clothes for little people?

I'm tired of having to wear loose fitting jeans, and having to cut six inches off the botton to taylor them.

    Just for specifics - I'm 5'0" 98 lbs, 32 in. waist.

    Thanks

Just wondering, do you really have a 32" waist or is that a typo?

There's an online store for petites called ItsyBits. Don't know the addy, but you can google it.

Or shop at stores that are in your local Chinatown- some of the clothes for Asian females are too tiny for me and I'm a size 1-4 petite. The prices are great too.

Maybe it was 22" waist and it was a typo?

Theres this store thats called 579 and they make super tiny clothes but in Junior sizes. I had a friend that was tiny like you and she just bought regular cheap jeans such as Angels and Rampage. Good luck...Express and Limited should stop changing their sizes so dramatically.

Abercrombie & Fitch has a size 00. A few other labels are following suit for more petite women. As for hemming jeans, I'm 5'4" and I still have to. Most are made for women 6' tall, no matter what the size!

If you have something dressier coming up (like a wedding), Petite Sopisticate or Talbot's have good stuff.

Helpful petite's tip- if you buy Junior's sizes occasionally, TRY the garment on first & factor shrinkage into the fit....the body shape designs are so different that you need to buy larger than you need. Just my 2 cents.

Try italian and french designed clothing. They cost more, but the quality is better and they make their clothes to fit smaller women, since everyone walks over there and the young women tend to be short and petite.

So NOT true! I'm 5'8" with really long legs and have the opposite problem... pants are too short! I have to buy expensive jeans to get the length... I think its easier to hem ANY jeans than to search for ones with length. Jeans typically are longer the bigger the size... being a size 2/4 the length is usually for someone who is around 5'5" ... if I wore a 10 at my height I could probably buy jeans anywhere. Be happy all you have to do is pay $6 to have any jeans hemmed.. you have more options than ME!

my suggestion is to find a good seamstress

that way you can buy what you like from regular stores and make sure it fits you perfectly.

that is what my good Asian friend does who is also super petite

american sizes are ridiculous, i guess its because everyone is so fat and need those vanity-adjusted numbers. i'm 5'4", 110 lbs...small but not THAT small and i have a real tough time finding clothes to fit me. i often wear the UNsize of 0 (and, yeah, at abercrombie -- double 00) and very rarely more than a 2.

unfortunately, nice clothes in such petite sizes are usually made by the upscale brands at pretty high prices. i do a lot of my shopping at places like nordstrom rack, off 5th, etc. they have a lot of smaller sizes (especially at around 24 or 25) and the prices are reasonable. places like neiman marcus and saks have really impressive designer markdowns too a couple times a year, but they arent really extensively advertised.

I'd have to agree, that would be a lot more difficult...

And where can you get alterations for $6?! Hook me up!

Yeah, I'll try. A few of the ones I've gone to here are just bitter old ladies and don't like to listen, they just kind of do what they want. Then they wonder why they never get much business...
