I plan on doing it a very long time. I love it!
I'm done. I had my fun and now it's time to just be a mommy.![]()
I plan on doing it until i finish school and hopefully quit, but that will prob be hard.....

I did it all through college w/the intention to quit when I was done, but now that I'm looking for a "normal" job I'm thinking I might continue to dance on top of that a few nights a week so I have some extra income.
I plan on dancing for another year or two and then I plan to have kids

I'm working one shift per week for the next 2-3 years. Within a year I'll be finished with school and my liscensing, one year to build up a clientele, then possibly one more year of entertaining to save up and open my own business. Wish me luck...
I'm going to dance until I am so old and saggy that they drag me off stage.
You say psycho like it's a bad thing

Long time... i love it too. When I get my 4 year degree next December, I plan on maybe getting a day job and dancing... or going to grad school and dancing at night.
Hell yeah! Me too!Originally Posted by Miss_Eliza

Well, heck, I could quit now, if I wanted and follow my granpa in his profession.
And be another stuffed old hen in the barn. A rich hen but stuffed nonetheless.
Nah, I'm going to keep going at least five more years. I'm not ready to be stuffed yet.
I'm still young and ripe. When I get older and sour, then I know it is time for me to quit.
Until then, Y'all come to see me!

I plan on dancing for the next 3 years. If Im lucky enough to start and intership or get a stable paying job in my field of interest then I wont dance as much during the last year. Then off to 2 more years of school to finish...well see what happens.

Until I can't anymore! Thank god for plastic surgery to keep me in the game longer!
I figure with a good plastic surgery routine, and the improvements in modern health care 50 year old strippers would not be out of the question.
Promote yourself and earn more money! This is a business that is owned by strippers for strippers. Let's make that money!

when the money becomes shitty ill stop.. or untill i have enough for school![]()
I planned on quitting in 2001, when I graduated from college, but that was a really bad year to graduate. And I moved to NYC. Really bad.
I retired a few months ago after almost six years. It just stopped being fun for me and the money was still good, but the stress outweighed the benefits. I miss the flexible schedule and being on stage sometimes, but I don't miss certain customers, mercenary managers and high fees and BS from other dancers.
I'll never rule out going back, but it doesn't look like I will any time soon.

I actually just quit my club after only dancing for a year. My averages had gotten much worse over the summer and I fveel like working there was driving me batshit insane. I need a break. I might dance again, but definitely not in Seattle. Even if I decide in a few months that I want to go back I doubt there will be much of a club to go back to after the 4 foot rule passes.
I planned on only doing it a couple months to pay the upcoming semesters tutition. That was 4 years ago. My goal now is to get out of debt, buy a new car, and buy a house and have them paid off in full. If that doesn't work, I'm going to quit when my baby starts school so I don't have to worry about running into teachers or friends parents. I know I complain about it but I really do enjoy dancing once I've found the right club.

I started dancing May 2004 so I could afford to support myself and earn my BA. I plan to dance at least through my planned graduation date of May 2008; most likely I will continue to dance so I can further my eduaction in the way of an MA or into law school. So I am looking at a dancing career of 4-8 years, until I start the next career phase of my life.

Probably will keep doing it for a while, the money is great, and it's still a lot of fun.Like others said, thank god for plastic surgery!
If it's still fun and the money's good, go for it.
I was still doing well financially. In fact, PEC was the most money I made dancing, but also the most stressful environment.
I made good money in Baltimore, but went through hell at Hustler there and dancing in New Orleans isn't an option for the forseeable future.
To be perfectly honest, one of the reasons I quit is because I found it harder as the years went on to find a club I was happy at. That is, one with consistent (decent) money, low contact and good management. I just got tired of going around searching for these places, but wanted to stay in NYC. Traveling to dance was fun, but sometimes it's nice to be home for a while.
I keep hearing so many stories about money and conditions worsening in clubs. It's good to hear that there are still clubs to work in where there's money to be made and things are good.
Noelle, I can totally sympathize with dancer burnout, especially in a weird and restrictive town like Seattle.

I never really gave it a thought when I STARTED dancing. I was a sophomore at ASU, and had just transferred there. I was looking for an utterly different lifestyle than what I'd had in Bahs-tun (and damn if I didn't get it!!!). I met James, who had just graduated from ASU and was working for a year as a bouncer at Tiffany's before going to Law School. He suggested I try dancing, which I did on a lark. The rest is kinda history.
The day I STARTED dancing, for all I knew I'd be at ASU for 3 more years and graduate, and would prolly dance there for as long as they'd have me or until I got bored..... When James got admitted to U.W. Law School, I quit and followed him up here and retired from dancing.
Why am I telling you all this? Just go with it. You may dance for a year.... you may find it's a career and you don't want to give it up.
I met a woman in her mid-30's who danced one night a week. She was the typical suburban house-frau (think "Desparate Housewives" except she was VERY happily married to a successful business exec.) She had two teenage daughters, and hadn't worked since she started hatching puppies. She'd NEVER danced. However, there she was, in her mid-30's, wondering if she "still had it". (She definitely did -- a total knock-out. I had to pay $5900 to get boobs as nice as the onces she still had after nursing two children!!!). She danced one night a week, just for the pure thrill of it (and maybe $500 in tips!).
So.... just go with the flow, hun!
The sex was so good, the neighbors needed a cigarette!
