I have to again thank everyone here for the great advice...I feel like a winner at my club these days and it's because of the great business logic from you folks. For instance, tipping at our club- not really a big thing. Most tip the DJ five or ten (all we're required to pay is a flat $25 fee), and some others tip the managers who drive them home...it all seems so vague when I've asked around. Many girls got very cagey when I asked what they tipped, so I've just discreetly observed to get an idea of the norm. Sooo...I am just a generous gal in most respects as it is, and thus I am a big tipper. I tip ten to the DJ (and I ask nothing special of him for stage lighting, smoke, etc), but also ten to the waitress who is kind to me (ie- I don't drink at work, but get coerced into have drinks with customers sometimes because the waitresses hate missing a drink tip...the nice one is the girl who doesn't freak out and not-so-subtly knock my chair when I pass up a shooter...I tip the kind girl who gladly brings me my cranberry juice that at least looks alcoholic to the fellows who like me to drink with them, and sorta sounds it too when I say "a cranberry please").
I also tip the manager/bouncer (it's the same job at our club, meaning there is very little bouncing because they only seldom stroll by the CR)- this is what has paid off for me! Last night one manager came in to the dressing room and said "someone is waiting for you". Some spendy gentleman was asking for a dancer recommendation and the manager introduced me as "the most beautiful dancer here" (not exactly the case, or not obviously the case I wouldn't think). Definitely must of been because I tip the guy. Definitely paid off extremely well, so I left the manager again with a very generous tip.
So, just to reiterate the benefits of 'taking care' of folks at work, especially at a club like mine that has low fees, and no % cut from the dances sold. And my gratitude for the pragmatic wisdom from the clever people around here!
