    Sad Tough Situation!!!Need Advice!

    What should I do???
I live in DC but I want to dance in Baltimore where no one knows me. I currently work as a bartender 5 nights a week but the cash isn't very good right now. Plus, I am DEAD BROKE. To top it all off, I don't have a car to drive back and forth to B'More. I'll be a first time dancer, and i feel like the longer i wait, the more fat i'll feel, or the less brave i'll feel.
    Any ideas? I'm hurting!!!

Hey! I'm actually looking to work in Baltimore as well. Nothing in Northern VA seems like it pays well (or pays well enough), so I got to looking into Baltimore clubs. They seem a bit better. My plan was to try out for a dance amateur contest coming up in one of the Baltimore clubs. Then depending on how well that goes I'll see from there what I want to do exactly.
Do you know about Greyhound buses? They're pretty cheap (well at least I think so). It would probably take me about an hour....maybe close to two hours if traffic is bad to get to the clubs in Baltimore from where I am. Since you live in DC it’d take you a long while as well by car. And here’s the thing….gas prices are HIGH now. So you’d probably use a tank going back and forth. Basically without going on and on, my point is greyhound might be cheaper. It’s around 20 dollars for a roundtrip ticket. That’s cheaper then the average tank of gas. So don’t fret if you don’t have a car! Along with the buses, you have the trains as well. Going from D.C. to Baltimore on the train costs about 17-20 dollars for a roundtrip, and it’s like 20 minutes I believe.

Could you tell me a little about yourself (if you don’t mind)? How old are you? Also why do you think you’ll feel fat if you wait to dance?

    Talk to ya later.

Have you tried thinking about maybe considering dancing in DC after all,it will be a lot easier for you without the commute, and you won't be as tired coming home at 3am to DC from Baltimore?Baltimore definitely has more clubs than DC,but without a car it will be tough.

Which clubs are you checking out? I'm interested in The Ritz Caberet, I've been twice and I like it. Yet, I can't seem to find anyone who can give me insider info. If you know anything, please share!

TMLSUPERSPICE>>No info that I can give you unfortuntally, but how oh-so happy I am very glad that you threaded this, I'm in the same boat... I would definatally look into the transit options for you.. Mad props to Sada063!!!! Reminded me that, oh-yea, there are "options" here... I'm from High Point NC, don't know much about the transit opportunities here but I know that in Winston-Salem NC that you could get bus passes for a month, which I'm pretty sure they were right around $30--- ride all you want... Since Baltimore and DC area are pretty busy towns anyways, it would probabally be pretty wise to look in to, you should be able to find it on the internet anyways (usually under transit or transit authorities), which I'm just about to do. Plus if you have a way to do this you would not only have a ride to work and back, you could go to the grocery store, mall, anything that you would need a ride to get to-- and it would be basically a $30-$40 bill every month that would be a great, cheap way... Good luck to you!!!! I totally feel you on the "can't be seen" thing--- best of wishes =)

Not sure if this was referred to me, but I'll answer anyway lol.

I'm looking into the Gold Club ( or Gentlemen'sgoldclubgirls to put it in longer version terms). It's a nude club, so that's already way different then the clubs here in Northern VA as they only allow pasties/thong. I haven't been there yet, but want to check it out. So who knows.

You're talking about the New Ritz Cabaret right? I'm checking out there website right now. It looks quite good. Maybe too good (for me). Whenever I see a very upscale place like this with a lot of hot girls it tends to make me a little timid of trying for that place you know? But if you like it it’s worth a shot. How did you hear about this place anyway? Was it your first choice?
