    Default What's good money?

This question is specifically for girls in the Austin, Tx. area, since that's where I'm at, but everyone feel free to comment.

I know how much you make is affected by all sorts of things, I'm sure right now my biggest hinderance is that I'm brand new at this and couldn't hustle my way out of a wet paper sack just yet, but I'm curious what's considered good money in my area, what would be a realistic goal to set for myself? I'm really trying not to get discouraged, but I haven't even broken $100 in an 8 hour shift yet and I hear everyone on here talking about $300-600.

wow...in the deja vu in cincinatti, i dont think i could let myself leave without 100 at least...during the days most girls have pocketed 150 after payout, and evening during the week are around 300 after payout...weekend nights are between 400-1000

I average about $400 for a five hour night shift, more on friday/saturday nights...I've been doing it a month...depends, I guess. I shoot for $500, and would be disapointed with less than $300.

You didn't say, are you working the day shift? Day shift is going to be harder if you're a newbie. Since the majority of day shifters are experienced at hustling it will be harder for you to make bank. You should look at some of the other threads and get a book on how to sell. I know it's frustrating in the beginning to feel like you aren't making what you expected but being a newbie on day shift... your gonna have to get creative and be unique.

It's hard to tell what is good and not good because there are so many different types of clubs. Topless, bikini, pasty, strip clubs, lap dance clubs, gentlemens clubs. Then it all depends on the clientelle. Hmmmmm..

It also depends on you. Once you have worked some place for a while you will develop regulars who pretty much come in mostly to see you. (equate that with spend their $ on you)

Stick with it. The money will get better. Perhaps there isn't much $ in the club where you work. I would be careful talking to the girls you work with about how much $ you make, or asking them what they make.

I for one don't talk about with the exception of like 2 girls who I am close with in my club.

Good luck sweetie... It will get better. Once you get the hang of it where you are maybe you can find a better club to work at in your area.

I work in the same club, and there is money to be made, but like anywhere else, you have to work for it. Don't be too hard on yourself; you're new and the learning curve is different for everyone. Experiment with different approaches.

I think money is really varied in Austin depending on the girl and the club. I think the average is $200-400. I've heard girls complaining about making $75 on a night shift at Yellow Rose, but they have up to 100 girls at night.

Try not to worry about the money at first and concentrate on your dancing and socializing skills with the customers. It takes a while to get into the groove of working the room. When I take time off and go back it usually takes a day for me to get back into it.

^^^ Yes, but where you live the cost of living is higher than some places.

What would be $100 here, is more like $250 there. (When you take inflation and cost of living in to account)

I usually set a personal goal every night. I work my ass till I get it, and then slack off a little. If I don't get it I just remind my self, there's always tommorrow!

Actually, kitana, it's totally the other way around. The cost of living in Austin is much higher than it is in Kentucky, no doubt. I bet it's higher than in most areas of Michigan, too. Rents are freaking high in the ATX.

I also make more money here than I do in the tristate (OH/IN/KY) area. And I get pissed when I make $100, which happens very infrequently here but at least once a week up there. I just think that SS is a brand new, learning dancer and therefore won't see her earnings terribly high for a while. Not to mention that you have to hustle in this club.

    ^^^ That's exactly what I said.

What would be considered bad there, ($100), is not too bad in the Tri-state.

I guess I worded it wrong.

What I meant to say is that while Ksalerio would be pissed at $100 a night, it's not bad for this area. And what would be considered good up there would be exceptional here.

    Oh, I see now.

I think we can agree that the tristate area sucks for strippers, though. Unless you are holding on to some gem in Lexington or Louisville I don't yet know of . . .

God bless Texas, SpookySqueek. It will get better and your earnings ceiling is higher here than in many other places.

    Kitana nailed it.

Personally I aim for a weekly goal which changes depending on time of year and the location where I am dancing at the time as well as type of club.

Same here Lion. I set my goal a little lower during the summer around here since it's dreadfully bad in the Mid West. But in winter, I up it a little.

$100 a day/night is bad anywhere in my book. In every club I have worked at usually I see one or two nights out of 6 worked where I make in the hundred to $150 range. Fortunately in the small town clubs I work in I work on base pay bookings so I can add $50-$75 club pay per night to what I make on the floor which makes most bad nights at least $150-$200.

You are dealing with a massive amount of dancers in the bigger clubs nowadays and less customers than 6-7 years ago. In smaller town clubs, you have a handful of dancers which is good, but still some nights you just don't have the money spending clientele.

$100 after tipouts anywhere in this country doesn't go far. A dancer needs to make in the $200-$300 range after tipouts minimum working full time to really accomplish anything in this business.

But if you travel the country and go inside every strip club you see as a customer, you will notice that in the vast majority of clubs the earnings potential is in the $75-$150 range after tip outs. 65-70% of the clubs in this country have horrible earnings potential for various reasons, some reasons being strictly enforced dance laws. And the busier clubs with higher earnings potential have so many dancers that it makes it harder to sell guys. Guys know they have a lot of girls to choose from and they tend to get cocky. You have to push hard and have great selling skills to sell in an environment where there are as many or more dancers than customers.

I've worked in Texas clubs. A dancer is never going to have steady earnings in those clubs because it all depends on how much money walks in the door when you are working, and how much competition you have dancerwise. Sometimes a dancer doesn't have many customers to approach in those big clubs with lots of dancers, because there is a girl sitting with every guy in there making it hard to approach the tables.

A week in Austin probably will and should look like this:

    Monday- $250
    Tuesday-$80
    Thursday-$375
    Saturday-$110
    Sunday- $250

Keep in mind an off week could have more $100 days, and a good week more $250-$400 days.

Have you considered taking the Dancer Wealth seminar? That could help you learn how to hustle and sell better, and probably get your average earnings in the $250-$350 range in Austin, even with all the girls you have to compete with and the shrinking money spending customer base.
