    Lost of appetite.

    I'm gonna go to the Dr.'s office this week. But does anyone know anything that can help you get your appetite back. I am pretty much disgusted by food lately, I don't have a desire to eat nothing. I have to force the food and it makes me sick. But I can go w/o eating for a long period. And no, no pot. lol That gets me depressed.

    I get like that from depression (or stress). Usually I'll try to eat just lit bits of food at a time. Just snack throughout the day since the thought of eating makes me sick. I think by eating a little bit here and there will trigger you to want to eat more. Just stock up on some of your favorite food. For me I love fruits and veggies, and I love seafood so I'll try to find someone to take me to my favorite restaurant. Going without any food is extremely dangerous for your body. Esp dancing... Your body needs food for energy.

    I don't know if you smoke, but that is an appetite supressant as is caffeine.

    Maybe GNC sells some type of pill for that. I know bodybuilders need to eat a lot to bulk up for muscle.

    try to eat yogurts, bananas, and anything high in protein. I went through a spell like that for about 3 months. I couldn't keep anything down. The cause of my loss of appetite was heartbreak. I literally would eat, then a little while later throw up. It's not that I wanted to, I just couldn't help it. Depression and stress can do that. Also if you go on a starvation diet and don't eat wll for a while you lose your appetite and then when you do decide to try to eat again you can't. Good luck Vy...

    Ditto. Heart is broken into a million little pieces and have no appetite.

    I haven't eaten in 3 weeks. I just can't keep anything down. Even with the anti-nausea medication the doctor has given me. Been in the hospital 2 times for IV fluids. Blech. I'm sad.

    Agree with those who recommend small amounts of high protien foods. If you can stand drinking shakes, there are likely some on the market that will at least give you a daily supply of protien and carbs.

    And if it's depression-related, think about getting on an SRI. I'm currently taking a miniscule amount of a new one called Cymbalta that has a really terrific impact on my mood and energy level.

    Yeah it's the combination of heart break and those stupid BC pills that turned me into a whack job over night.

    a couple of weeks ago i went through that! It seemed like nothing sounded good to eat so i just didnt bother. I think it was because i was eating the same OLD thing every day. I started switching it up more and i am a little better.


    oh and if it is heart break, hell that would keep me from eating no question. I always have problems eating much when i am really under stress. It will get better!

    Maybe try some protein bars or shakes? While it won't be packed with nutrients, maybe even treat yourself to something special, like chocolate cake or a banana sundae? It might help kick start your appetite.

    Wow, this sounds awful. I am surprised so many women take heartbreak so hard. Become cynical and cold like me! LOL
    Anyway, the women sick from heartbreak might benefit from a little mental pep talk- my old heartbreak still troubles me today, but then I tell myself I was swindled so well by my ex that I CANNOT allow him to take anymore from me. If I want to find a BETTER man and have BETTER than I do now, I must put myself first and, to quote a wise lady on SW, give myself Only The Best. Food, clothes, fun, grooming...I deserve it.
    Re: birth control pills- just quit taking them and use The Sponge until you find a brand that works.

    Try drinking Ensure. It has all of the nutrients and vitamins that you need. Alot of grocery stores carry it. I don't recommened the chocolate though!

    I too have gone through the not eating. For me it was caused by a hard weekend of partying and then coupling that with alot of stress. Couldn't eat without feeling sick and less I ate sicker food made me feel. Small regular meals of veggies helped me get better and I relied on protein shakes to feed my body.
