    Default sulfate free shampoos?

My hair is very fragile and breaks quite easily. I'm wondering if I try a sulfate-free shampoo if that would help minimize some of the breakage I encounter. The problem is, I only know of one brand (Jonathan) and they are sold out on sephora.com.

Can any of you recommend a sulfate free product?

I like to use Curly Girl Lo-Poo or No-Poo shampoos and conditioners. They smell great, and I can tell the difference from normal shampoos after the first wash. Whether or not you have curly hair, this stuff is great.

    No-Poo?

Hmmm...well, I googled it and it seems to be more of a "no-shampoo" lifestyle. I didn't find any products. Am I missing something here?

Jonathon's prods. are also sold on qvc.com, they do sell out when he's on. Try lookfantastic.com, they have tons of hair & skin prods. & custy reviews. Not sure about the sulfite free thing on there, but a health food store would carry it Also try lamasbeauty.com they have great stuff, & they are also sold on qvc. Also try stevenssalon.com, I LUV their shampoo 4 for dry & chem treated, smells like Fr. Vanilla. You could also ask @ a nice salon in your area, for a recomendation, good luck.
OOp. Just read Kat's recent thread Sampoo & Condit. rec.'s, in this forum. I guess Jon.'s brand is only avail on Ebay now.

There's a brand called Jason that has sls- free shampoos. Also, the shampoos in the African hair care section tend to be natural and sulphate-free.

I've found that almost all shampoos sold at heath food stores are sulphate free too.

    Feature costumes for sale!

Well, I went to the health food store and picked out an all vegan, sulfate free shampoo. I chose Morocco Method.

This stuff is gross. It looks like mud in a bottle with some gritty sand tossed in. It doesn't lather and while it does seem to do a good job I'm just not sure I can handle using it as a shampoo. On the other hand, it makes for a very nice face wash!

Aubrey Organics Island Naturals works well for a little while. Another sulfate-free shampoo is made by Enjoy. I love their leave-in conditioners too.

I'm not even going to say what that looks like, lol!

And while I'm here, what benefit does no sulfate give you?

^I know. It looks like shit. Shit in a bottle. But it does smell kinda nice...earthy...and honestly I'm liking it more and more each time I use it. It really is great for the skin too.

I don't know what benefits sulfate-free have but like I said, my hair breaks pretty easily and I'd like to minimize that. The truth is I'm a product whore and I'm always looking for an excuse to try something new and different.

Later on today I'll post the ingredients.

    ^haha Wonder Twin Powers...ACTIVATE!

    here are the ingredients:

    Our simply pure ingredients
Pure southwestern white healing clays - rejuvenates & restores; French micronized grey kaolin clay - absorbs impurities;red & brown French clays - antiseptic & stimulating; natural soapbark from Chile, Chinese green tea from Shanghai, cactus from Mexico - rich natural foaming botanicals; aloe vera - healing and moisturizing; Irish moss, red, brown, and white algae extracts - absorbs impurities and protects; apple cider vinegar - natural preservative with live enzymes; 92 trace minerals - natural preservative; essential oils of eucalyptus, frankincense, myrrh, rosemary, safflower, sage, sesame, vetiver.

    Here's their website:

Interestingly enough, the MM conditioner was mentioned several times in a "Worst Product" thread on the longhaircommunity board. The conditioner does suck. But the shampoo is kinda cool. The most important thing is that there is waaaaay less hair collected in the drain at the end of my shower. I think I'm gonna keep using it for a bit.
