These are cheap halloween costumes, but might spark the imagination.
Okay, sorry, just noticed this is the music mix board.....Perhaps something from the Pirates of the Carribian Soundtrack or Peter Pan perhaps....can't think of any really good stuff off the top of my head though, sorry.

I'd say Sex Pistols' Friggin In The Riggin but its not very dancable. Heh.
Thats a tough one.

Marasmus ... "Ladies don't fart. They butt-laugh."
Marasmus says, "Oh no, that wasn't gas, it was merely a rectal chuckle."
Marek says, "A friend of mine got punched in the face by a dominatrix stripper about two weeks ago and I thought of you."

Ok heres a few suggestions, but i agree with paige, this isnt an easy one.![]()
Hues corporation-Rock the boat.
Its an old disco tune, but its easy to dance to and the older guys will know it,might work for a lighthearted starter song.
Southern cross by Crosbey stills, nash, young.might make a good slow finish song.
The tide is high-blondie.ehhhhh might work, its a stretch,i would have to hear it again.
3 lock box by Sammy Hagar.Might work for upbeat rock song if you can use a treasure chest as a prop.
A pirate looks at 40 by Jimmy Buffett.I dunno, might work as a slow song for older crowd.(actually might work real good for an older crowd cause its low key.
Another one by Jimmy Buffett that might work is Changes in Latitudes, changes in attitudes.
Cool change by the little river band.Might work as a slow one for classic rock crowds.(good freekin song!)
You could also use "outlaw"songs that might work and play on that aspect of it like Ratt- wanted man,styx-renegade,dirty deeds done dirt cheap-acdc,life in the fast lane-eagles,bad to the bone-george thorogood, etc. It might be an easy way to match what your looking for and give you alot more choices to draw from.
Now if you can do country and get away with it,maybe these will also work.
two pina colada's-Garth Brooks.Fun and somewhat upbeat, says "set sail with Captain morgan"often.friends in low places by him would also kinda fit for this.
Come sail away-(i forgot who does it,its classic rock)
If you can get those gold foiled covered chocolates to toss from the stage, you can do alot of "Money"songs as well, maybe stock the treasure chest with them.
Hope these help get ya started,if you need more, let us know what "mood"your trying to set and it might be easier to pinpoint something for you.
There are quite a few songs on Adam and the ants "kings of the wild frontier" Cd that would work, especially "Jolly roger".

Come Sail Away is a Styx tune....there is also a version by South Park's Cartman...
Ride Captain Ride - Blue Image (Classic Rock)
Ring my Bell - Anita Ward (Ship's bell prop perhaps? Disco)
Sailing - Christopher Cross (slow ballad from the 70's)
Point of no Return - Kansas (classic rock)

I didnt think about this one,wow would it fit perfect!
Great Idea!
Im sorry,im afraid we are going to have to kill you now for even suggesting this song, its the Law.Sailing - Christopher Cross (slow ballad from the 70's)![]()

Hey! I didn't say it was a GOOD suggestion, just one that might fit the pirate motief....![]()

One idea is to use the the song from Pirates of the Carribean from their soundtrack called "He's a Pirate". It's a good, upbeat swashbuckling song used throughout the movie and in the final fight scene.

not a clue in how they would go over in a SC though
Wow, some FANTASTIC suggestions!! You guys are amazingly creative. LOVE the idea about the chocolate coins-no matter what song I go with!!
What I'm going to do is download pretty much everything suggested and see what moves me.
Thanks so much for all the thought behind the songs. The creativity here never ceases to amaze me!
Thanks!!

Here's another one I ran across on one of my MP3 CD's
I'm Your Captain - Grand Funk Railroad (Classic Rock)

What about the good old, "Yoho Yoho, A Pirate's Life for Me"
just logged on to ask the exact same question!

There's a good song by the Flogging Molly's (or something like that) called The Pirate Song, which I use in my pirate set. It's fast and pretty easy to dance to and very "pirate-y"!
Si hoc non legere potes tu asinus es

I've danced to Ozzy's Hellraiser and Avenged Sevenfold's Beast and Harlot for a pirate skit. I've also done Styx's Come Sail Away.

oo the beast and the harlot.. i love.
Chipz - Captain Hook
Jonas Brothers - A Pirate's Life For Me
There's a song called "Captain Jack" which is pretty cool but I dunno who sings it
"Captain Jack" = Billy Joel![]()
Are you sure? I don't think that Billy Joel sang the one I'm thinking of

umm we had a pirate thread a bit ago for cally.... perhaps this will help.

Billy Joel does has a song by that name but apparently so does this guy (if that be an appropriate term) : (look under the "Mission 96")

it's a little tough to find, but KMFDM once did that 'yohoho and a bottle of rum' song *shrugs*
