    Hoodia?

    Hi Girls,

Has anyone tried the appetite suppressant Hoodia? I've been feriously hungry lately for some unkonw reason (stress maybe?). I'm wondering if anyone has tried it, if you found it to work, and what brand you used.

Thanks for any input you can offer!

Maybe if you are suffering from stress related hunger, you could deal with it from that side, instead? Like, I realize you can't eliminate stress from your life but you can take steps to minimize symptoms. Just a suggestion.

The simple answer is always the hardest, isn't it? Yeah, you're totally right of course. Thanks for your feedback.

If anyone has tried Hoodia I'd still be interested in knowing what you thought. After I try to deal with my stress, if I'm still starving...does Hoodia work and if so what brand?

I haven't used Hoodia but I know about it. It is supposed to be the primary ingredient in products like Trimspa. Its an African plant and it is supposed to work really well but the amounts in the diet pill are very, very little.

I have had those uncontrollable hunger feelings before. It was definately related to stress, which in turn, caused me to crave/eat bad refined carbs. And of course that made me hungrier, it was a bad cycle. I can tell you this much though, you should seriously try to deal with the stress problem rather than masking it with an appetite suppressant. The effectiveness of the pill will eventually plateau and will leave you hungrier than ever.

In the mean time, I would follow some sort of diet to regulate your blood sugar levels. Eat 6 to 8 small meals a day of lean protein and good low glycemic carbs (dark veggies, brown rice, oatmeal). At least for a few days cut out caffeine, alcohol, probably even dairy (its hard on the digestive tract). Do some intense cardio to sweat out all the toxins in your system. I love sitting in a steam room too. Drink shit tons of water. Try to relax. Figure out what, if anything is bugging you. I bet this makes you feel better.

If not, maybe see a doc. There could be an underlying cause.

The hunters in the African tribes would ingest some of the plant before they went out for the day. It would help decrease their appetite in case they were gone for awhile.
I picked up several sample bottles at a convention back in March. It was made by a company called VPX Sports. I dont have a problem with appetite, but I took a few to try out and they do work.

Here's a link w/ more info on the VPX brand

I, personally, don't see any problem with being really hungry. The problem is with the food you put into your mouth when you get hungry. If you eat fruits and veggies as opposed to chips and fries...you'll notice a big difference.

You know,I heard a lot about this product, too and went to the vitamin store to buy it.Took the whole bottle over the months period, according to the instructions,and....didn't notice any difference. So it didn't do anything for me,but maybe will work on other people.

I agree with VG,maybe it's better just to keep a healthier diet.
