    Default Licencing

    Hi everyone.
Just joined as a new member as im travelling round the world in december and hope to dance in austalia, new zealand and america. I haven't got work permits for any of these countries and was just wondering if licences for dancing would be available to me. Also does anyone know if u need a licence to dance in australia, san diego, canada (vancouver) or miami. I dont think you do in new york? Your help would be very much appreciated.

    Hi,
You'll need a work visa if you're not an Aussie citizen for NSW and Queensland clubs if not the whole country now. You might want to check the Australia threads! I have only just returned from 3 months in England and haven't checked work out here again yet, but it was pretty dismal in Sydney NSW (way too many girls and lack of customers...) and The Gold Coast QLD (never particularly great...) before I left so if you're planning on visiting these places you might want to save first!

    hey there

you dont need a licence to work in australia .. you will of course have to have some sort of proof of age tho..

here in Adeliade you dont have to be 18 2 dance.. you can be 16 as long as you have a gardians sig and it signed by a police officer and a jp.. If you are 16 and working in a club you are not allowed to serve drinks and also have to be out of the club by 12am..(pretty silly really tho)

I hope this helps ya out with a bit more info

Because of the Patrior Act which was passed after the 9/11 attack, all US clubs are required to check that any dancers they hire are either US citizens, permanent resident aliens (green card) , or have been issued a work visa specific to dancing. As dancing is not a profession the US state dep't wishes to encourage (compared to doctors, scientists etc.) and as there is not a shortage of US citizens wishing to work as dancers, obtaining a work visa is virtually impossible.

All of the upscale 'corporate clubs' and most of the reputable clubs will follow the Patriot Act requirements, meaning there is no chance of a foreign girl being allowed to work without the proper documentation. There are of course some US clubs which won't even ask for a dancer's real name let alone her citizenship - however these sort of clubs usually pay equally little attention to other US laws i.e. prostitution, drugs etc.

As far as obtaining a dancer's license in cities that require it, this will be impossible without a US address and proper documentation i.e. US citizen, green card, or work visa.

    Hi there

You don't need a license to dance in NZ. Be sure you look me up and get in touch if you get to Auckland as I'm sure we can find some work for you and if you prefer to work at a club then I can put you in touch with various people who are on the non sleaze side of the business.

    cheers
