Default Docudrama about murdered strippers in Alaska (1984)

This lady is doing a play about some murders in Alaska of 17 strippers and prostitutes--just thought it might be interesting for some of you. Someone said there was a book out also; no clue about that.....

I was sick to my stomach when I saw a CourtTV show about a sheriff's deputy near my home area who had been killing teenaged sex workers- his own co-workers had to catch & prosecute him. Without all the forensic evidence collected, he would have never been caught.
My point- heed all the scary movies about staying out of bad situations. I thank God for my luck in life but other women have not been so fortunate.

Oh man I know... was this the same one that kept me up all night, the one about southwest florida / charlotte and lee county?? That's where I am and I was really sick watching it. Apparently this psycho was infatuated and obsessed with "girls of the night".

I read alot of serial killer books (I'm kind of twisted like that) and one author put it very well when he said 2 activities to avoid if you don't want to be a victim of a serial killer are: being a runaway or a streetwalker (as in prostitute). Most, of course not all, serial killers prey on victims that are assumed to be people that are not going to be missed. Women/men who have few if any people looking out for them. This knowledge, along with things we learned when we were kids can help to keep us safe from these sick, depraved predators. Don't accept rides from strangers. Don't take candy from strangers. Oh, and my favorite, which my best friend and I came up with, "Don't talk to strangers, or anyone stranger than us!"

Ladies, just always be aware of your surroundings and never, ever be afraid to tell someone that they're making you uncomfortable. Never be afraid to yell or run. It could be the one thing that you do that saves your life.

***Glam is now putting down the serial killer book and getting off her soap box.***

Wow, really interesting. What's scary is that in my town that I live Sarasota something similar is happening. Prostitutes are being murdered and their body parts are turning up all over. The fucked up part is that because of the fact that it is a tourist town there has been no press or anything on it. Don't want to scare the money away ya know. I just hope the the police are working hard on it even if they are keeping it on the DL. The main stroll in town is right down the street where my dads house is where i lived and worked for years and it is about 3 city blokes from the club I currently work at.

Weirdos are all over. I got this from a page that was taken down. It is a big local story that went national and even on Operah.

"For a span or 15 years, a millionaire recluse in Syracuse, NY had been holding young women hostage in his home and keeping them as sex slaves. Jamelski had made a concrete dungeon in his home approximately 4 feet below the surface. The young women were chained to the wall, given a pot to urinate and deficate in, and never allowed to go outside. Jamelski raped the women at least once a day. He told the women that he was trying to save their lives because his "bosses" wanted to sell them on the Internet for $30,000.

"The first female to be abducted was 14 years old and held for four years. The young woman was out with her friends and they said that Jamelski drove up to her in his car and the girl got in. Another woman was held for 2 months (the women were not held at the same time). This young woman was very drunk and when Jamelski offered her a ride home, she got into his car. He made the females write letters home saying that they were in drug rehab centers. Suddenly, Jamelski released the women by blindfolding them and driving them home. He even gave one woman $200. The first female did not go to the police with the information because he told her that he would kill her family.

"Last aboduction was in 2002 when he abducted a 16 year old African American female. His mistake was that he took the young girl to a recycle center in order to dig through the trash. The young girl then asked, in a quiet voice, if the manager would let her use the phone. The girl then called her sister, told her where she was and said," I'm being held by a rapist" and abruptly hung up the phone. Jamelski then told the manager that he would be going to the local pet store before heading off to Canada. As he left, the sister called the recycle center's manager and told her what her sister said. The manager called the pet store owner who in turn called the police who waited for Jamelski to arrive.

"Jamelski believed that the young women were having fun and that he was helping them. He also said that his obsession with sex started in 1985 when his wife's illness prevented them from having sex. Although, he belives that he should be given community service as a punishment, he received 18 years to life in prision."

I will add this. All of these women when captured were vulnerable, living nomadic lives and abusing substances. The court put Jamelski in jail essentially for life, awarded his dungeon destroyed, and his assets to be liquidated and given to the VICTIMS. Now isn't this a unique thing.

Oh, there will be a movie and probably a book.
I loved going to strip clubs; I actually made some friends there. Now things are different for the clubs and for me. As a result I am not as happy.

Customers are not entitled to grope, disrespect, or rob strippers. This is their job, not their hobby, and they all need income. Clubs are not just some erotic show for guys to view while drinking.

NOTE: anything I post here, outside of a direct quote, is my opinion only, which I am entitled to. Take it for what you estimate it is worth.

All it's going to take is the killer either getting sloppy and/or mistaking some tourist's daughter or wife for a mark and the whole thing will be blown wide open. Sad but true.
