Proper care of leather & rubber garments

I have a lot of great sexy clothes but I can't afford to take everything to the dry cleaners.
I figured the fine ladies of SW know a few tricks for taking good care of alternative garments.
I've been told to use Armor-All on vinyl, but I have some clothes that are too fragile for that.
Can rubbing alcohol be used instead of water? How about steam & washcloth?

Not sure about leather as I've never owned much of it, but with my plastic and rubber clothing and also for wool or anything that is dry clean only, I either wait for it to rain and rush outside to hang the clothing out in the rain; or if there isn't rain I hang my clothing out on the line and give them a good spray with the garden hose! I turn all the clothing inside out btw! Neighbours and passers by think it's abit strange, but it works!!! I discovered this by accident when my son was a baby and the rain washed out a particularly bad stain that the washing machine hadn't got rid of.
A dressmaker friend told me that morning dew works just as well for really delicate items!

For my "plether" pants I use windex on the outside after they dry and I had wash them inside out and use a mild shampoo for the inside. I wait till the inside drys then windex the outside.

For leather, I went to Wilson's in the mall, and got the leather protector and some like of oil soap. I hand wash those too.

For rubber I would say just use regular dish soap and towel dry it and then hang it up.
