According to my husband, they believe she was followed coming home from work at Skin's Cabaret in Scottsdale. Here's the article:

TEMPE - Police say they're still stumped as to why a young woman was murdered last week. She was found bleeding from her head and lying face down in a parking lot outside her apartment.
Georgia Thompson's death Thursday was Tempe's third homicide of the year. The 19-year-old Skin Cabaret employee and Hooters waitress was found about 1 a.m. at the Saddle Club Apartment Homes, near Mill Avenue and U.S. 60.
It was only a week after two other Tempe murders and took place within the same square mile. Police have few clues, no witnesses and little information on why Thompson died, said Detective Sue Schoville, who is leading the investigation.
This is what they do know:
Thompson came to Tempe in July from her hometown, Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. She had aspirations of becoming a model, her family said.
The afternoon before she died, she met a female friend at the Acme Roadhouse in Tempe. A surveillance camera caught an image of her. She was wearing the same orange T-shirt and jeans she had on when she was found outside her apartment, police said.
After leaving the bar, she had gone to work at Skin, a Scottsdale topless bar. Just after midnight, she returned to Acme to get her car, police said. A bouncer remembers spotting her getting into her vehicle, investigators said.
Thompson's family wasn't happy about her work in Arizona, her father said.
"None of it is something you can make a dream out of for your child," Bill Thompson said of the sixth of his nine children.
Police have ruled out robbery as a motive, Sgt. Dan Masters said. Thompson was found with her car keys and several shopping bags.
