    help with thighs and abs

    can anyone help me with this!!!!
    i have been working out for 6 months now, i have a great high and tight butt , have lost 10 pounds on the scale and 4 inchs on the tape measure. i eat right with lots of protein and run and use the stairmaster 5 times a week and do ab workouts twice a week.
    yet, i still have problems with my abs and my thighs. my back and inner thighs have very little muscle and look like jello which is really weird with a rock hard butt. i use to have a wide flabby tummy with no ab muscle at all. now i can feel a thick layer of hard muscle but it is covered by an equally thick lyer of fat over the center. its like some one has grabbed all of the fat i have on my stomach lifted it, put perfect abs under it, squished the fat together and layed it right over the center of my abdomen. has anyone had this problem before?
    please give me any advice that you can!!!! i'm desparate!!!!!

    It sounds like the problem isn't so much muscle tone in your abs, it's more with the layer of fat covering it? If that's the case, cardio is the only way to remove the fat and show off those beautiful abs. And unfortunately, there isn't a way to spot reduce fat, you have to burn it off all over. Any cardio should do the trick, so just find something you enjoy and can stick with...

    that sounds about right for my abs
    any advice about those jiggly thighs of mine? i already run five days a week so my but is as hard as brass but my thighs hardly are touched.

    It's sounding like it's all diet.

    You need to tighten up your diet more...you should move out excess carbs and sugars. Replace with fruits and veggies...eat 6 times a day...and you should notice a difference within about 2-3 weeks.

    Nekosmeow, you could also just be genetically predispositioned to storing fat in those areas. I am NOT suggesting this for you, but in my case, I was 13% bodyfat and still had bulgy thighs so I went for Lipo. It didn't matter how much I ran, how many squats I did, they just didn't go away. And at 13% BF and ripped abs, I don't think my diet was the problem.

    The sad truth is, we are women and we are SUPPOSED to store fat in our tummy, thighs, and butt. I bet if your weight is in check and your in good shape, your probably the only one that is bothered by it anyway.

    Basically, your options are to either embrace your beautiful body, keep working at it through diet and exercise and maybe it will go away, or go for surgery as the last option.

    They make those toning bands you can use for your thighs, or even some moves on the stability ball will do the trick. And don't forget cardio! I actually like all my jiggle, guys do too...... is yours like super out of control? I think if a woman is at least toned or looks like she takes care of herself, she is perfect. Good luck!

    honestly dancing is what really toned my legs. I have great muscle definition now. I think walking in the heels help with it plus all the times on stage and lapdances. Try what some of the other ladies has suggested I hope you get the results you want!

    If any of you are having problems with "fatty pockets", I suggest you go out and buy this book: "Fat Flush Plan". It's not a "quickie" diet, it's a flushing plan for your body to get rid of the toxins that build up from our everyday diet.

    Go, read, do...and see what happens.

    For abs I like to do target work.

    I suggest checking out the 8 Min. Abs excersise dvd . It is short and to the point and easy to stick with doing every day since it takes less than 10 minutes. Their videos are usually easy to find on ebay and they have programs for legs,butt and arms too. Plus there is a 10 to 20 cardio and more including a stretch section in the bonus section of the workout.

    the thing is that my butt is rock hard and doesn't jiggle at all when i walk but my thighs do. it looks like my thighs are the thighs of some other woman grafted under my butt!!! it's like a pefect toned and tight bubble but with 2 sheets of jello attached. it's not super out of control size wise,it just looks wierd!!!!
    i eat a high protien diet already with lots of veggies and water and do cardio 5 days a week. yet, this problem persisits!!!!

    thanks for all the advice so far!!! i guess i'm on the right track even though nothing is working yet. any thing else i might try?

    These are the last places to loose fat. Watch your sodium and sugar intake and late night carbs. Cardio, cardio, cardio!!! Lots of water.It may be genetics so the only other alternitive is loposuction.

    you didn't mention anything about lifting weights at all? start doing squts, lunges, leg presses, hamstring curls, all of the leg machines... when u do squats do them in a plie position ( think ballet) it will get the inner thigh good... also do the machines that work the inner and outer thigh.... im a big runner too and i had that same problem....a super tight ass, but a little flabby on the inner thigh.... contine to do what you're doing, but continually eat well too.. diet is the biggest thing..... oh, just ask the trainers at your gym to show you some things to improve your trouble spots... they always have great suggestions...

    Have you tried changing your workout plan? Such as trying different kinds of cardio and wieghts?

    Thats help me loose a pound or more here and there by varying my workouts. I change them 1-2 times a month now. I do lunges and damn those are great for my backs of thighs.

    Someone told me its 80% diet and 20% workouts. Workouts can only do so much when not with the proper diet. Changing your lifestyle for optimal fitness is a fun thing to do...you get to try so many differnt things.

    I say grab a few books on nutrition and start reading.

    drink water. it will get rid of fluid, if you're bloated. try the crab walk. sounds stupid but it works your entire body. do it for like 2 minutes then do another exercise for 2 so on so forth.
