    Smiley New in Houston

Hi. My names Quinn. I'm 21 and just moved to houston and am yet anthor wanna-be stripper. I've been waitressing and cocktailing ever since i could legally work, and while the money can be good, I'm just so tired of it. Anyone who's served before knows that 12-15 hour work days are just expected of you, and days off are few and far between. I want to get back into school, but i work over 50 hours a week and if i cut down any, my bills dont get paid. I think I'm alittle different than most newbies as working in high class bars, I've had lots of practice 'hustling' guys out of their money. I know how to feel them out, tell them what they want to hear, ect. The thing I really dont have down is the actual stripping (and i may be wrong, but i think that may be one of the important things ). I know I could be great, but I'm just scared that the cattyness i hear about will discourage me from sticking out the "newbie" phase. I wish they had a "big sister" stripper program :-) though I guess this site basiclly the same thing. I live right down the street for treasures, but from what i've read here, it may be a little to high contact for me (i am NOT an extras girl). The Mens Club sounds nice, but I'm not sure if they'll take on a newbiew. If anyone here works in the houston area and can offer advice to a newbie, that would be great. Thanks!

Okay, not to offend any current Houstonians, but from what I remember, every club in Houston (that I danced at anyway) was high contact and full of extras girls. But just b/c you don't grind down on the customer or sell extras doesn't mean you won't be successful. I NEVER sold extras and I was always in the VIP area. The Men's Club is considered the most elite in Houston. You have to look damn good and high class to work there. I don't know if they would hire a newbie or not.

I danced at Treasures, Splendor, Gold Cup and St. James (all under the "Jackpot" umbrella -- you can google it's website). An average night for me was about $400-$500 dollars with some alot higher and some alot lower. Splendor was my main club b/c it was close to where I lived. There was indeed some nasty shit that would go on in VIP but you just learned to ignore it b/c management didn't care. When I was there mgt. was nice and friendly but did expect tipouts from dancers. If you didn't hook them up they would screw you over -- BIG time. They have a huge stage too with waterfall/shower and a tall ass pole. They always had feature dancers/porn stars too. The Gold Club was my second fav b/c it was sort of a fancy sports bar atmosphere. The housemom was really nice too and very trustworthy. Treasures, I thought, was overrated. Caligulas down the street was a brothel (at the time I lived there anyway).

The "Jackpot" Clubs are Treasures, Centerfolds, Gold Cup, Trophy Club, Cover Girls, and Splendor. St. James is independently owned and operated.

I can't speak on Treasures, but from my personal experience, The Men's Club usually prefers that you have some experience in at least "B" club. And yeah, all clubs in Houston have "extras" girls, you just have to make your own decisions and be you.

You can brainstrorm dancing in H-Town all you want. I worked there for 13 months at St. James and Ritz.

Just get hired at a club that has decent volume and take it from there. You'll adapt to a working style that you're comfortable with. All the advice we can give you isn't going to matter. You've just got to get hired and learn the ropes.

The Men's Club is picky about who they will hire. Treasures sometimes is sticky about hiring as they have a lot of girls who constantly are seeking work there.

St. James and Houston Dolls as well as Heartbreakers only require a Texas ID for hiring puposes. The other clubs in the city limits need a dancers license.

Why not get hired in one of the clubs that don't require a dancers license, and get a feel for things first?

I hope I can be successful with out it. I just refuse to resort to that. Its just that all the post about houston are kind of scarying me. ::sigh:: I wish I could have started stripping when it was all stage work. I love the theatrical aspect much better. Anyway, while my body could be alitte better (im thin, but i want to be more toned) I'de like to say that I look pretty damn good. I used to model alot until i went through my rebel and dye my hair every color phase.

well, i live on westhimer near the galleria and (damn gas) need to stay close to home. I'm going to visit a few clubs next week, but I guess I just have that new stripper fear that if I dont work in a "nicer" club, I'm not going to make any money.

I've seen it a few times, its pretty close to me. How long have you worked there? Is it nude or topless? I have so many questions about everything.

Maybe try the Gold Cup. It's pretty close to the Galleria on Hwy 290. You'll make good $$$ there.

Regarding baby dolls, I've been there twice, plan to go back, I really dig a girl that works there. It's a nice clean place, I did a review of it.

Take note, its an evening only place. When I went back my second time, it was early and it kind of sucked because there were only like 5 girls and the stage was empty 1/4 the time for the first 2 hours. I tipped the stage once and didn't even get a hustle out of it, or by any of the other girls the entire time I was their. I would have bought dances from 2 of them :/

I recomend at least making an orbit around the room early on, you never know what you might get.
