Any other mommies/wives to give me advice?

I am a 28 yr old mom of 2 kids (2yrs old/10 yrs old), and the wife of a great man. I am currently going to school in addition to dancing 3 nights a week.
I would like to know if any other moms/wives have been able to work travel into their lives without disrupting too much. The clubs in my area just aren't cutting it money wise although I love my management and girls.
I would like to be a traveling dancer but of course I don't know how to work that out with a family, etc. I need to be able to make more and the locals aren't sharing
Any advice from others in the same boat?
    Thanks!!

    Hi there (-:
I travel for my work as locally it's pretty crap. Have been doing this for 2-3 years now. My son is almost 14 now. I am very lucky in that we were able to move back in with my Mum, so my son stays there permanently although he does spend some time with his dad too when I'm away. I go away for 2 -3 weeks at a time and then come back for about the same amount of time. It works really well - he's happy with it which is the main thing. If you have the suport at home I'd say go for it!
Originally I thourght I'd just do 4 days away at a time, or 8 (have to work 4 days in a week at the club when I'm there...) but since my son was ok with it it made more sense to do longer stints.

I am the mother of two (3 and 1) and married also. I know it helps me having my childern there where I can see them in the a.m. but it messes up their lives we have found it useful for them to come part of the week and stay in a hotel. Example I leave monday and they come to see me about wednesday or thursday stay a few nights and then go home I show up in time for breakfast sunday and life is good.

Thank you both for your replies. The farthest I have traveled to work was 2 hours up and 2 back. My kids are 10 yrs and 2 yrs so having them both with me at a hotel isn't possible because my son has school and hubby works. Unless of course it was over a weekend but hubby won't do it. He says he doesn't want to "go away" or "vacation" just to have me working. It's frustrating.

Maybe you can find somewhere to go for a weekend (fri, sat, sun) stint every other week. You have to obviously find a place that you make good money at and the managers are cool with your schedule. I don't know exactly where you are so I couldn't make a recomendation on where to go but you could check the club reviews section for clubs that are close by you (2 hours) with good earning potential.

    Oh Aussie,
Is that the skirt part of the Cleopatra costume you are wearing in your picture on the left above?

I am married and have an 11y.o. step son. I travel incessently, and have ever since I frst started dancing. Hubby gets tired of me being gone all the time, so I will stay home for a few months commuting to a club 1.5 hours away. I get really tired driving 3 hours a day and eventually have to go out of town to make some money.

I supplement my club income by doing strip-o-gram and bachelor parties. I also am an ebay mechant and work taking calls booking male and female dancers for parties and review shows. So having multiple streams of income helps me feel less dependant on the club I dance for. It is the most empowering feeling in the world to know that you can walk away from a club and never return if you don't feel like it!

Heh, yes it is - although I didn't realise when I bought it as I got it in a hurry (long crap story...) Years later, like a few months ago I saw it in a catalogue and realised I'd been wearing the skirt part backwards, lol.
