Nooooo they don't me expect to work every day, thankfully! Although I thought we do have to go in at least 4 nights a week, 4-5 hours minimum. I just learned yesterday that if you want to leave early, say, 2 a.m., you have to ask at around 1 - otherwise you're one of the girls that gets stuck staying until closing.Originally Posted by tampafldancer

So I figure I'll go in tonight and tomorrow night for 5 hours each, take Sunday off, go in on Monday, take Tuesday off and we'll see how I feel then.
Just a little update - I went in last night and am going in for all of the weekend including Sunday. Taking Monday off for a much needed rest.![]()
Other than two bad nights where I came home with $50 bucks after tipout each of those two nights, I've been averaging $300 - $450 a night after tipouts and house fees. Right now I'm just scouring SW's Hustle Hut for more info and advice.
For those girls that want to start dancing but are too nervous, the best thing I can say is just go out and do it. You really don't get anywhere by being scared, and this industry is not the place for it. They kind of just throw you to the sharks and it's up to you to resurface and start swimming. Just know that if you've been reading all the threads here about audition tips and preparation, how to move when you first start out and what to say, you're pretty much prepared. All you need is the confidence to follow through.
You are definitely your own worst critic, so if you can get into a confident, outgoing mindset, you'll be amazing.![]()

Your last post made me smile because those are the kind of words that are inspiring to those of us who want to make a living at dancing (but are putting it off for a while until life settles down).
I guess I don't have anything relevant to add. Except I like reading encouraging tips like that. So thank you for that. ^_^
^^^ Heh, when does life really settle down? There are always going to be obstacles in our way and things we have to deal with as we try to maintain some kind of normalcy in our lives - we just need to learn how to balance everything that's being thrown at us and start prioritizing the things that matter most. Whether that's family, money, financial stability, education, or whatever else the case may be, we need to decide what we want to accomplish for ourselves, and make a plan to see those goals come to fruition.![]()
