Ok well I have heard from many people that drinking green tea everyday will help you loose up to 10lbs in 6 weeks. This could be a farce but I have heard of doctors that swear by this... so I wanted to get others input?![]()

It seems to work. Just about all the fat burning supplements coming out now contain Green Tea. It has been shown to increase fat burning, decrease appetite, and increase antioxidant levels. Instead of drinking several cups a day, you might want to think about taking it in tablet form. It's also pretty cheap too, a 2 month supply is only ~$7.00.Originally Posted by Vixen608

I Luv Green Tea. I don't use it lose weight tho. I have switched over to it from coffee, (somewhat I drink less of it). I also dropped off drinking diet sodas. I make "sun" green tea, (put in glass contaier in the sun to brew), it's great.

I'm not sure how MUCH it works for losing weight , but I do know it's supposed to be amazing for your heath because it's full of antioxidants and I've heard ppl say it even helps you improve your skin tone.. I love the different flavours they have of it now in the stores!
It keeps me from having cravings....

green tea will stimulate your metabolism and you will expend 4% more calories per day than you would normally (not burned calories from working out).

Same here. Didnt really give me energy. Helps stay awake a little bit but no where compared to coffee. I love making sun tea too.Originally Posted by whirlerz

I always love to repeat the fact that Asian women rely on green tea to stay tiny and skinny.
I love black tea for the taste, price and has a similar effect as green. Green tea is bland to me.
Just drink some sort of tea. In Third World countries, teas are a common way to administer medicinal herbs.
I take the Woman's One a Day Weight Smart with Green Tea Extract. It comes in a green and white bottle and is a green pill. I like it. I don't drink much, period. I should drink more but I have a weak bladder so I'll stay on the toilet constantly. So, if you don't like or have the time to drink the tea I would suggest taking the pill form. I think it helps to eliminate cravings and maintain my weight. Hope this helps.
If you switch coffee for green tea, that alone will help you lose 10 lbs in 6 weeks. I think this was said by Dr. Perricone when he was on Oprah.Originally Posted by Vixen608
Sorry to get off topic here... but I've always known coffee to be a metabolism booster and appitite suppressant. It's also a directic and makes you pee a lot so it also has antioxidant values. The only bad things I've heard about coffee is that it's bad for you in mass doses, but so is everything. If it makes you gain weight then I've been gravely misinformed.Originally Posted by Serendipity7

As for the green tea thing, I tried it for about 2 weeks and nothing happened. However that was only two weeks so ya never know and it definitely wont hurt trying.

I'm not sure about weight lossSince I made the switch from coffee to green tea(plus I drink lots of water), my skin from head to toe looks good! I'm so glad I did the switch. Only thing is the green tea makes me a little sick to my stomach in the morning.I do eat in the morning.

green tea, regardless of whether or not it helps you lose weight, is still a potent anti-oxidant and helps ward off cancer and alzheimers. so it certainly can't hurt, and probably will help, to try!![]()

oh please, it's not one of them things were you stuff your face with fries, fatty foods and no excercise then depend on green tea to help you lose fat.
Green tea will help speed your metabolism which can help burn fat faster.
But losing weight goes hand in hand with excercising and dieting -- it's not hard.
YOU PREACH IT GIRL I AGREE WITH YOU A 100%![]()

Nutrition and Daily Activity is the keys to successful weight loss and maintenance... not exercise, that is only part of it. Activity is different to exercise as exercise is something that you set out to do whereas activity includes things like running around after the children, walking all around a shopping mall buying stuff, mopping/vacuuming, cooking instead of phone-ing for a pizza and so forth..... as well as 'exercise'.
Nutrition is also the key as diet-ing is (once again) not the right word to use. Do not go on a "diet".... eat nutritionally! It's having an active healthy lifestyle in the end.
As for Green Tea... have it along with ginger tea... and you have a powerful tea!I also have recently started drinking green tea (all the different varieties) alongside other herbal teas (and good ol' black tea).

so if i drink it iced will it be to diluted to work?

Why would it be too diluted? When I have Green Tea it IS in tea form (usually hot tea). I personally don't see how it wouldn't work if you had iced green tea.

For those who drink their green tea, I highly recommend trying Arizona Diet Green Tea w/ Ginseng. I'm not really a big fan of any type of tea drink, but this one is very very good. It's sweetened w/ Splenda.
because there is alot more water used in making iced tea. not a small cup like for hot.Originally Posted by GoldCoastGirl

I guess due to the greater water content in iced tea and you don't mind the stronger taste... add more green tea. At the same time, I don't think its advantages would be diluted due to the amount of water used with it....![]()

I drink green tea sometimes, and all it seems to do is make my stomach hurt!
