Anyone ever tried these supplements before?
I heard body builders use canthaxan pills to look darker too.

My husband and I own a gym and tanning salon. I have tried tanning pills before and it was a waste of money. Definitly not the same as UV lamps, sun bathing, or sunless. The pictures of the tan body builders on the advertisement is a product called Protan or Jantana. It is a very thick substance that stains your clothes, drys your skin out and is very messy. My husband competes in shows and uses it to show muscle stradations and the bronze appearance on stage. It also takes days of exfoliation to remove it. You are better off spending your money on a sunless application or just tanning with moderation and a good lotion.

Can you reccomend a good lotion? I'm thinking of tanning once every two weeks. Don't want wrinkles.
I haven't tan my skin in a while, i'm still tan by sun. I hate being pale too, argh. I don't want to look like leather or casper. Hate fake tanning lotions, they never look good and always a pain in the butt to put on & off.
Here's what I use. It works great, no splotches or staining. It might not be as dark as you would like though.Originally Posted by Vyanka

A good self tanner is body drench or savage tan you can get them at sallys. I have used both for a long time a year now and they work good. I tan twice a week in the beds and apply the tanner twice as well. Iam very pale naturaly and it makes me quite dark and it looks natural. The pills I tried those and they did nothing. I have heard there is a vitamin in carrots that if you take or eat them your skin will get color not sure though.

Designer skin is my personal favorite (Halo, Bondage,) The top seller in my salon is California tans GT Seven- Maximizer. Sounds like if you have a base tan this would be a good option for you. The leather look comes from not using a lotion when you tan and over exposure. The salon you choose should advise you how long to go and how often to maintain by tanning sessions. I agree, a uv tan does nook more natural and golden than most sunless products just do both in moderation.(I use both). Depending on smell preference , tingle products for advanced tanners(warm feel), bronzers (good for instant color) there are lots of good products. I would suggest you buy a few samples from your salon and try out a few to make sure you like it. If you choose to try a tingle lotion do not use it on your face .
Sweedish Beauty (dangerously dark), Australian gold (cheeky brown)Supre (hemp products) just to name a few.

Thx.![]()

Concerning the carrot thing, it's no myth. My mom ate carrots maniacally when I was younger, and she actually turned orange...like sweet potato orange. We made her stop. It was freaky.
