Angry Identity database- this is not a joke

www.zabasearch.com Just to let you girls know, whoever is concerned about their saftey and privacy. Any one can look your personal info on this site. I found myself on there including name, current and past addresses, birthdate, and phone #s. I emailed them to remove me. I dont need stalkers finding me on here. It even gives you a link to mapquest to get directions to your house and more search options to get more info on you including background checks!! WTF!!!!

I saw nothing on it for me other than limited public data. At least it is more up to date on location than my credit report (which is not on it).

If people know only your dancer name they cannot find you. Unless you live in a one horse town and you work there under maybe your real first name.
I loved going to strip clubs; I actually made some friends there. Now things are different for the clubs and for me. As a result I am not as happy.

Customers are not entitled to grope, disrespect, or rob strippers. This is their job, not their hobby, and they all need income. Clubs are not just some erotic show for guys to view while drinking.

NOTE: anything I post here, outside of a direct quote, is my opinion only, which I am entitled to. Take it for what you estimate it is worth.

I'm lucky, I live in a big city and have a super common name. They would knock on alot of doors and my info didn't appear in the search anyway. Good to know! Jenna

There are lots of these kind of databases out there on the web. How do you think all of those spammers and telemarketers get your info?

These places gain your info from you when you apply for credit, a cell phone, an apartment or a bank account. If you don't give your customers your real name then they won't be able to find you using this data base. They may be able to find your real name from your license plate info, however. I have an incorrect address listed for my drivers license and vehicle registration just for this purpose. If a stalker is that determinded, you really have no other recourse then to file a restraining order against him/her.

Scary...but, you know...it's nearly impossible to keep your information out of the public's eye. I do not think, though, that they should make it so easy for just ANYONE to get this information.

I checked my info. They have my birthdate wrong (and my age wrong). So, anyone looking for me would pass that right over since they month and year are wrong.

I checked this a while back when someone else posted it. All they had on me then was old information (previous married name, all addresses associated with it, etc), nothing current.

I just checked again.. Still nothing.

I never give my *real* last name to guys who ask. I make one up if they are pesty about it. I also lie to them about the town/state I live in. Ive never had a problem with some one trying to track me. Thank goodness.

It seems like people with home titles pop up. A friend of mine is on there but his age is wrong- possibly from an ID theft incident from a few years back (!)

I didn't find anything on me. Paris is right, though, about people tracking you down with your license plate. There are sites out there (for a fee, of course) that will tell you all the information from your driver's license (name, address, birthdate, etc.)- my parents used it when we had some weird people that kept driving around (suspiciously) by our house.

So, Venus. You thought you could fool us by not using your real first name.

If you give out your cell phone number, it should be prepaid, not the additional line crap. Don’t tell him what car you drive, birthdays is a bit sketchy, he’s got your age and b-day and (if you told him) where you were born but I’m not sure if theres a database for this. But the biggest thing is your real name, I would definitely need this to even start any sort of search.

My wife's last listing is 12 years old. My last one is 4 years old. My current phone # is wrong and so is my birthday. None of my children are listed at all. Still, it's creepy. But not at all shocking that this is out there. Getting "off the grid" is pretty damned difficult anymore.

My daughter is ten.. how on earth could she have any public records???? Its red flagged me enough to make some phone calls this morning... I think a child should not be showing up on a public records list... I thought the only way you show up is if you have used your social security number for something... and I KNOW hers hasn't been used for anything.

THAT is scary, Gyn! There is no reason that a child's personal information should be showing up. I'd be livid. I just checked for my kids' names, and luckily, they're not there---yet.

Not sure of the website but your listed residences are also on sattelite pictures once they have your info . I saw a view of my home and surrounding neighborhoods. It even gives you an arrow to zoom in on the subdivison.

It was all free and accessible to anyone .

I checked that website a few months ago..all the info they had on me was from when I was like 16 staying with my mom whewwwwwwww lucky me. But it is still very scary as hell.

Oh yea, did you guys know if you go do a yahoo yellow pages search, sometimes your CURRENT info can come up. Mine is there..and it creeps me the hell out!

You have to give out your info for them to have it. I heard that, when you sign up something, like those free gifts from a dept store, surveys, even that publishers clearing house stuff, puts you on those records. I don’t sign up for these things, if I do I give out false info and when looked, my info it wasn’t listed or wasn’t correct, so there might be a correlation.

I don’t know how your kids info is there, did you sign her up for anything? Anyone who’s listed should tell if they do/did sign up for things, it’ll probably help others not to do so.

Just to give y'all some persective here.
Everyone who lives on your block knows where you live. People who are driving by as you unlock your door and go inside know where you live. So does your mailman. And the fedex guy. And anyone who works at the post office or fedex - that information is at their fingertips. Probably most of you have that kind of information in the white pages. And your kids - all their little friends and their parents know where they live. This information is not really that secret or hidden or hard to find if you are looking for it. And there is no point in being frightened of people knowing where you live - I mean the entire concept of addresses is so that people will know where you live.

In relation to work - nobody needs to know your name to look up. There is no reason to lie - you can just tell them that you don't like to give out the information. Conversely there is no need to explain things, because you can, after all, lie. Technically, your manager doesn't need your name. Mine doesn't know mine. He's seen it, when he saw my license, but he doesn't remember and he wouldn't need to ask. In any case - your customers aren't trying to hurt you. Even the creepy ones really just want you to like them. Most of the time when customers are invading a girl's privacy it's because she won't make clear to them that is what they are doing - she doesn't want to risk losing the paying, lucrative customer so she builds up drama about it, "Like, oh my god, he's really scaring me" and then when she sees him, she goes over and gives him a big hug. Now I know you've all seen that. It doesn't have to be that extreme, but I think we've all been a little unclear in rejections at some point or other in order to keep the customer.

In terms of kids being listed - probably at some point or other they gave Disney their information on the internet (although I'm pretty sure that it is illegal in some states to ask for kiddy info). It really is probably nothing that nefarious - it's just a directory.

As has been said, this is all public info from property records and other public info. Zaba also isn't updated that quickly.

I work at a bank and the proprietary search engines we have are vastly superior and updated far more quickly then this is, which is to be expected as this is a mostly free service (I searched some names/people on what I use at work and on here and compared).

I wouldn't panic too too much about this. Anyone who's dangerous enough to stalk a person would find it far easier to simply follow a person home, no matter what line of work they're in, to using a search and mapquesting you.
