If you go through Janet @ the best dancers, you just need a british visa to work @ the hustler club (because you are officially employed by an agency in UK, or something like that). UK visas are pretty easy to get if you're canadian and have not had one before- look into the 'working holidaymaker' programme.

    For Americans, dunno-

for Americans it's tougher since America is not part of the UK/CA/AU 'Commonwealth'

Yeah, I'm an American already here in Paris and the nice British girls managing the Hustler club here told me over the phone that they can ONLY hire people with European Passports. I'll keep you posted, though.

    Hello

Thanks for the info ladies. I still would love to make my way to Paris in the new year. I know that I can get a student visa. I don't know if the clubs will hire me even with the visa, because I don't have EU passport?

With all of the anti-terrorist aftermath of 9/11, most countries have gotten much stricter about foreign nationals 'working' in their country. A visitor's visa or a student visa may get you into the country legally, but they do NOT allow you to work legally in that country. Obtaining a work visa, and specifically obtaining a work visa for dancing, is much more difficult. But as Scarlett pointed out, for Canadians and Australians the fact that these countries are part of the UK Commonwealth, and the fact that the UK is part of the EU, gives them a 'back door pass' to legally work in EU countries with a minimum of paperwork/hassle. But for American girls, who can't take advantage of the UK Commonwealth connection, obtaining an EU work visa is a much more difficult proposition.

As my plans are similar to some of you who posted, this is what I found out regarding working in paris. With a student visa (which I am getting), you are allowed to work up to 20 hours during the school year and more so (not sure of the number) during the summer and maybe the holidays. But i think that in addition to the student visa, you need to apply for temporary carte de sejour which cannot be completed until you get to paris, and it takes about 4-12 weeks to receive it. So I am guessing that if you plan to work in paris, plan on staying there for at least 6 months.

I did a feature on the Paris clubs a few months ago see http://www.strip-magazine.com/mmagaz...4918951&ucat=2 . The 3 TD places all recruit via London as you can't be self employed in France for some reason.
