    Default Vegas (Again)

I want to start spending weekends in Vegas; I'm not pulling down much in L.A. I only need to make $500 a week and I'm hoping I can do that by dancing in Vegas every Saturday. The reviews on this site look pretty old. Where should I look into? I don't mind some contact and grinding but I am NOT looking for a skankhouse.

And where's a cheap place to stay while I'm there?

www.likeahomelasvegas.com is a great place to stay recommened by DW to me. It is for dancers run by a dancer or ex-dancer. So there are no creepy parking lots to walk through or avoiding shady people on the way to your hotel room.

If you book a weekend with round trip airfare as a vacation package with expedia you can get some screaming good deals on places. If you are driving I reccommend that you check out some of the smaller motels a little away from the strip, to save money.

Club Paradise girls can easily do low contact dances there and still make money. I have a friend that swears by Spearmint Rhino, and another that loves Treasures. You will find higher contact at most of the other clubs, except maybe Saphires.

Make sure you get there on a week day so you have time to go get your sheriff's card and business license. If you arrive too late to get both done, you will have to wait to work the next day. It took me 2 full days before I could start work after getting to Vegas.

Promote yourself and earn more money! This is a business that is owned by strippers for strippers. Let's make that money!

Really? Urrrghh. I work a regular job during the week in L.A. I don't think I can take a week day off. What's a sheriff's card and what kind of business license? How much does it cost and how do I go about it? Can I take care of it through the mail?

I think I paid $40 bucks for my Sheriff's card. You can't take care of it through the mail. Also, you need to get a yellow refferal slip from a club BEFORE you can get your Sherriff's card. It's pretty easy to get the letter from Cheetah's, even if you don't plan on working there.

    Yekhefah-

First thing you would need to do is get a referral slip from a club. I never had to audition. They usually just look you up and down and say yes or no. Cheetahs is usually the easiest to get a referral slip from.
Take that to get your Sheriffs Card (work permit) and business license. One thing, you cannot get your sheriff's card on a weekend, M-F and you have to get there EARLY, like 8 am or you will be in line for hours. I never had to get a business license, but here is the info you need:

    Sheriff’s Work Card call (702) 229-3465
Work card processing includes interviewing, fingerprinting and photographing. The work card is similar in size to a driver’s license and is issued the same day as applied for provided there are no complications during the process.
The Las Vegas office is located at 5880 Cameron St. For general information, call (702) 229-3271.
Work cards currently are issued from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Monday-Friday and closed all federally recognized holidays.
    Eligibility for work cards:
To apply for a work card, applicants must:
Have a signed referral slip from your prospective employer.
Be 21 years old if dispensing or selling alcoholic beverages.
Certified copy of birth certificate must be shown by applicant 25 years of age and younger. No exceptions.
Persons not born in the U.S. or U.S. Territory must show one of the following: Naturalization Certificate; U.S. Passport, U.S. birth certificate; and/or Alien Card. This includes persons of U.S. Citizenship born abroad.
    Pay the appropriate fees.
You must show two forms of acceptable I.D. (any state-issued driver's license; state-issued I.D.; military I.D.; DD214; U.S. Passport; Social Security Card; Naturalization Certificate; Baptismal Certificate, and Alien I.D. Card.

    For the business license:
    Phone: (702) 229-6281
    Privilege License Section
    Business Services Division
Department of Finance and Business Services
    City Hall, Third Floor
    400 Stewart Avenue
    Las Vegas, NV 89101

As far as clubs to work at. I worked at OG's for the longest, but I danced at almost every club in Las Vegas during my 3 years there. I'll put it in a list.

Good clubs: OG's, Crazy Horse 2, Club Paradise, Spearmint Rhino, Scores/Jaquars

Average clubs: Sapphires, Girls Of Glitter Gulch, Play It Again Sams, Treasures, Cheetahs

BAD CLUBS TO AVOID: Any all nude clubs, The Can Can Room, The Palamino, Sheri's Cabaret, Larry's Villa

Take TigersMilk recommendation on www.likeahomelasvegas.com. Avoid the nasty Budget Suites near the strip. They are not very safe for a dancer traveling alone.

    Good luck!!

Thanks for all the help! Doesn't look I can do it, dammit. I really can't take a week day off. Oh well. Is it really worth it?

That's a hard question to answer. Money can be inconsistent. The only way you'll know if Vegas is your kind of hustle is to try it. Summer and Christmas time are the slowest times.

Sheriff's cards are good for 5 years.

There is a lot of run around on getting hired there. I have been to various clubs and told I'm not hiring, I just hired 3 girls and am not hiring any more. You really need to devote a week to getting a referral slip, getting your licenses, and testing the waters.

Clubs don't need more dancers and they hire at whim. And the money is inconsistent. You may work with more girls than customers. $500 is no guarantee. You may leave a club with less money than you paid to work.

Also I read somewhere on here that you should check when major conventions are in LV. Someone mentioned (dont know where I read it) but thats when money is also good.
