    Default Strippers' sports background?

Seeing a thread in Body Business about a dancer who competes in triathlons wondering whether she should get breast augmentation got me thinking (always a dangerous thing, to be sure) . What kind of athletic backgrounds do the ladies on the board have? Were they on school or collegiate teams, and if so, in which sports? And since cheerleading is certainly a dance-related activity, we'll include it here, too. (One of my favorite feature dancers of the past, Bambi the Amazon, played Division I college basketball.) Also, how much did playing sports help your dancing career?

Well...I'm not an "exotic" dancer, but I'll take a stab at this one.

High school- Dance team. I got Division 1 on a small ensemble...blah blah blah...the "Miss Military" award and the "Smiley Face" award...HA! I also did tap, ballet, and jazz in studio.

College- Dance team. I did fine on there until I hurt my knee. So I took a break until I moved on to...

Hockey Dance Team- We were complete "ice whores"...ha! The women hated us, though. Dancing on the ice made me really nervous (because of my knee), so I quit. I volunteered and taught dance to kiddos for a while, though.

    *Sigh* I miss dance!

Iceskating, track, basketball and floor hockey...

Track I did sprinting and I also did long distance running (still run to this day)..

In highschool I tried out for cheerleading with my best friend because she needed a partner, I got it, she didn't it.. I resigned and she got it on forfeit.. I never saw myself as a cheerleader..

oooh and dance.. lots of dance.

I was a dancer as well. I did tap ballet jazz point acrojazz and lyrical. Before i started dancing as a stripper i was thinking about dancing for carnival curise ships. Before i had made up my mind i met my now husband. Then i realized dancing on a boat for 8 months out of the year wasnt going to work i turned to stripping. What other way could i do what i love and make great money at it.

I've been swimming on my own for years (my high school couldn't afford a swim team, otherwise I would have been on it.)
I noticed a lot of dancers who did high school sports complained of knee & joint problems...the upside to swimming is the low-impact on joints.

I was on the swim team during school and was pretty good at it. Other than that, I was completely retarded at most other sports and usually faked having my period to get out of school sporting events

    Basketball & Cheerleading.

I took Ballet and Gymnastics for about 5 years, starting at age 7 I think.

I also did track, but I wasn't crazy about that so it didn't last long (about a year, if that).

In high school I was on the volleyball and softball teams. I was never a star, but was good enough to be a starter. In addition to those, I played basketball in junior high. Every year my mom would beg me to try out for cheerleader, but like Gynger, I could never see myself as a cheerleader. Took ballet a little as a little kid, it didn't take. I think all girls should play at least one team sport, or do cheerleading or band or something like that. Something to make you feel a part of a group.
