The easiest way I know is through an external device like a USB flash drive or an external hard drive. You can buy one pretty cheaply, anywhere from $20-$200+ depending on the size. They hook up through USB and show up as another hard drive. You can just drag and drop your files from the desktop to the laptop.
If your PC can burn cds, you can always just copy the music onto a disk and transfer them over.

    Mac or PC?

    If Pc:
Goto Edit -> Preferences -> Advanced Tab
See of "Keep iTunes Music Folder Organized" is checked.
If it is, all your music is stored in My Documents > My Music <subfolder of My Documents>

In your iTunes app, look at the bottom bar for the amount of songs etc...looks like this:
    440 songs, 1.1 days, 2.28GB

What you need is the 3rd column there <2.28GB> this tells you how BIG your music collection is, this also helps us tell you what methode is best for copying your library. My best suggestion without knowing that number is to go to best buy, buy a 40 gig external HD, hook it up, copy your My Music folder to it, then copy it to from the external drive to the laptop, THEN return the external drive and get your money back.

My second suggestion is to get an Ipod, enable disk access, and go about it that way. Let me know what you choose, you can pm me with questions.
