    Default Warning To Florida Dancers

I posted a comment in body business about getting a spider bite. I went to the doctor Tuesday morning and he prescribed anti-biodics. The bite kept getting bigger so yesterday I went to a different doctor and he asked me if I worked in a nursing home or anywhere around elderly people. I asked why and he explained that in this area (Pinellas County) and all of Florida, there is an epidemic of some kind of bacteria (I forget the name) that is easily transmitted and can infect any open wound you have. I explained that I worked as an exotic dancer, and he said theres a good chance I picked up the infection just from sitting on a chair that someone who had the bacteria on them sat on before me or just by lapdancing for a custy. Most antibiodics don't work on this and I had to get a special prescription to treat it.

I am constantly washing my hands at work and keep bandaids on the bite, but the doctor advised me to wear pants for awhile and anytime I get an open cut (even nicks from shaving) to wash it out after contact with any customer

I just wanted to pass this warning on to all of you.

Hmmm working at a different Dept. of the hospital but yes back....I know staph and flesh eating disease attacks many wounds.

Other than that i have heard nothing, that any other state does not have/get.

Yeah, I got one of those in Texas. I woke up in the middle of the night and my leg itched. I thought it was a mosquito until it got bigger and more painful. The girls at work said it looked like a spider bite. But when I went to the hospital, after it got all swollen and purple and there was like a big ring around it, the doctor put me on some antibiotics and told me they were going to have to do surgery. I went to go visit my family, saw the family doctor (because you really can't work with a big nasty swollen dot on your leg) and they ran some blood tests and said it was a staph infection. (This happened within the last month, I havent been working and I'm still on the medicine.) I was lucky I caught it in 5 days or so because there are people dying from staph infections. WORD OF THE WISE TO ALL DANCERS AND PATRONS: IF YOU HAVE A BITE OR CUT THAT SWELLS UP AND GETS MUCH WORSE THAN IT WAS, IT'S PROBABLY A STAPH/FLESH EATING BACTERIA. GO TO THE DOCTOR TO GET IT TAKEN CARE OF. THIS IS SERIOUS. My friend knew two people who died of it in California-a simple cut on the finger or wound on the knee can turn into something where they might have to cut your finger off or you can die because it infects your whole body. Someone stepped on my friend's foot at a club last week in the city, it got SUPER infected and she just now she can't even walk. If it gets worse and the antibiotics don't help, she might have to get her pinky toe removed!! Shit is not a joke, please be careful everyone and always be safe.

I got infections on my legs from the club I worked at too. Most girls go Pneumonia from mold. I just had upper respiratory infections. Dirty people/places suck.

Ladies, take L-Lysine supplement (it even comes in Vegetarian form) to prevent infections. I have been taking it for a couple years now & I don't even get cold sores in the winter now. I know the infection Alexis81 had was from contact, but if your immune system is strong, you have a better chance of fighting it off before it gets bad. You can also cover skin wounds with Nuskin, which is a liquid bandage.
