Default Again, trying to get my $

Yeah, I know. I worked briefly for this other small biz a**hole, he keeps givin' me the run around for my $. Same as b/4, I didn't fill out any paperwork, I do have a hand written sheet of stuff I did, from notes I took. today I will call him, (like the 5th time) to see about my check that should have arrived this week. Then I will do like b/4, send out a certified notarized letter asking for my $. I will barely restrain myself from marching in his office & kicking the sh** outta him... TG now I have a "normal" job.

File a complaint with your state Department of Labor. Let the ex-boss know about it after you file it. (I assume it wasn't a professional or union position.)
I loved going to strip clubs; I actually made some friends there. Now things are different for the clubs and for me. As a result I am not as happy.

Customers are not entitled to grope, disrespect, or rob strippers. This is their job, not their hobby, and they all need income. Clubs are not just some erotic show for guys to view while drinking.

NOTE: anything I post here, outside of a direct quote, is my opinion only, which I am entitled to. Take it for what you estimate it is worth.

I checked out the Better Bus. Bureau, they don't get invoved in employee / employer disputes. I have a form from the IL Labor Board. It can (& does, I've done it before) take a YEAR to get settled, if then. He received my certifed, notarized letter detailing the hours & days I worked, this past Thurs. (10/13), I got the signed postcard back. So far, as of today 10/18, I haven't gotten anyting. I will fill out & get the Labor brd. thing going, but it sounds like the only recouse if Small Claims Court.

not to be discouraging, but you should be aware of two things ...

Getting a judgement against the clubowner in small claims court is not the same as actually forcing him to pay you the money. It is only more legal proof that he owes you money. It also does not dismiss any counterclaim(s) the clubowner might choose to make towards you.

Taking this matter in front of a court, and/or pissing off the clubowner, may wind up drawing IRS attention down on your own head. This is obviously no big deal if you have properly reported and paid taxes on the income you earned from this club.

It's not a club, tho. It's a rat's ass telemarketing business. A shi**y little office. I didn't fill out tax paperwork, I didn't on this other job I had that the guy owed me $. HE eventually paid, after I sent him the certified letter. Still waiting on this one. I claim all the $ on my taxes, no prob.

You know, this would be considered theft...and you could write the loss off on your taxes. I don't think you would claim the money on your taxes, though. Just the write off. But, you may want to ask an accountant.

Oh, and you may want to name drop this business/guy/moron to the IRS. If they didn't pay you, they most likely are not paying all of their taxes and the IRS may be interested to take a look-see at his books.
