    Knee Pain... Vitamins?

I am not sure wtf is going on with my body but for the last week or so my right knee hurts like f*#king hell!!! Just to walk up and down the stairs makes me wince... Which sucks because I do it a gagillion times a day. I know I need to go to the doctor, I called and made an appointment. But short of taking 25,000 mg of motrin a day... What else can I do?

I thought I saw a thread like this a while ago. I tried to do a search but I couldn't find anything really. What kind of vitamins or whatever are good for joints? Oh... Now I'm depressed... I feel so old!!!! Dammmit!!!!

MSM with Glucosamine... works wonders on your joints. Its funny we actually use it for show horses like the jumpers because it helps prevent calcium break down in the joints and it helps rebuild whats been broken down. Plus it acts as an anti inflamitory and eases the pain. I use it for my knee which I had reconstructive surgry on.

Yep you can get it at GNC.. It is fairly pricey but its well worth it. I cant remember the exact price I pay(my man picks it up for me). Think it would be different anyway since im in Canada.

If you want to stop by GNC and pick up some joint supplements, look for the following:

    Glucosamine Sulfate
    Chondroitin
    Hyaluronic Acid
    MSM

You can also find them at CVS, Wallgreens, Walmart, ect....
Most of the joint supplements will contain at least one of the items above.

Thank you to all... I'm getting ready to go right now... I have to do something because this is really driving me nuts... One last question...

How long does it take after you start taking this stuff to feel any type of relief?

I am really desperate for some... Plus tomorrow is my Monday back at work (I work Fri-Mon) so I am dreading this...

Unfortunately it takes time, you're not going to stop the pain right away. It will take a little while for the supplements to start repairing the damage. If I was to guess, I would say you should start noticing an improvement after about a week. In the mean time, you can take your pain medication for some relief.

that complex is wonderful to take but it's not a forever fix...what was the initial accident or movement that caused the pain/injury? if it hurts while your walking up or down stairs it sounds like it could be that your patella (knee cap) isn't sitting right in it's place. this could be from a muscle imbalance in your quads where the patella is being pulled to either the right or left and not allowing it to slid in it's appropriate groove.
