I am not a dancer but I have a question re this "dangerous politics." for background, I am a guy (a liberal Christian, if you know me from other posts) and believe that much of the current sexual harassment law has gone too far. I have mostly Christian ethics, with occasional visits to strip clubs. I don't believe that guys should grab the breasts of women without their permission, whether the women are dancers or not.

anyway, I watched the movie Dukes of Hazzard a few months ago. At one point, some new guy in a restaurant playfully touches the behind of the Jessica Simpson character and she responds by using enough force to knock him to the ground, but without really hurting him. The Simpson character then uses her shoes to pin the guy until it is clear he is no longer a threat to her and she lets him up.

Anyway, that scene made me happy, because it seemed to me that
    1) playfully touching the behind of a waitress can be a form of sexual assault,
    but
    2) prison, jail and the criminal justice system is usually not the right solution to that crime. It seems very disproportionate to me.

    Anyway, my question is this:
OK, so the guy graps the breast of miss foxie. Miss foxie wants the guy thrown out by a bouncer, but the bouncers won't and she feels betrayed by this.

Suppose that, either at the time she was groped or at the time the bouncers refused to help her, that she had firmly slapped the guy who had groped/grabbed her breast? I don't mean to have hit him with a fist, but with a flat hand, and as much for the purpose of making a loud "SLAP" sound as for the temporary pain to the guy. Then, gone on her business and if the management had a problem with that, to have forced the management to have informed her. Do you think she would have been "fired?" Personally, I doubt it. And, if the management wants to fire him for slapping a very bad cad, she might find greater happiness in another club.

By the way, I wouldn't recommend a loud and hard slap as a solution to most groping, just the obviously obnoxious stuff described by foxie.

and, if the guy raised his fist or got angry enough to look as if he was going to hit back using his fist, just be calm and call, loudly enough to be heard, the name or names of the bouncer(s).

Ya know what? Maybe I've been lucky but I've NEVER worked in a club where I've had to put up with abuse from an owners/managers friends. I've worked steadily in 6 different clubs never mind all the clubs I worked at on the circuit. Usually if someone's friend is out of line their friend will tell them it's time to go home or do something to control the situation. Once when I was working at an organized crime connected club one of the big gangsters friends was harassing me. The gangster sent him home and then came over and to me and apologized for his friend being an asshole. I guess I've just been lucky. Nevertheless I will NOT work in a club where my safety is jeopordized by an attitude of passive indifference towards dancer security from the management. Also I won't be called a lier and a theif and accused of making shit up because I'm an honest girl and I expect to be treated accordingly. Yeah this is the adult entertainment industry and yeah shit happens but there are plenty of clubs that a dancer can work in and be safe. That said... I'm off to find another one! Like I said I've worked in 7 clubs steadily so 1 in 7 being unsafe is pretty damn good.
In a black light trance, then go go dance...

This is disgusting! I am so sorry for you sweetheart. Someone needs to remind your club that old rule from pre-school: "Safety First!"

I wish you would've had your friend kicked that guys ass before you quit. Because that kind of bullshit shouldn't keep going on. He needs to be taught a lesson, or at least know that his behavior does have consequences.
