Default working at a club, but not as a dancer

    Greetings,

I've been thinking about auditioning to dance at a few clubs in the city here, but given the choice, I'd really rather bartend (been doing it for the past 2 years and I love it), or work as a cocktail waitress in a strip club instead.

The only slight problem is, the bars I've worked in have been nightclubs and restaurants, so I don't really know the ins and outs of getting hired/applying at a strip club.

And I'm interested to know about the money situation/average earnings for waitresses/bartenders that you know of, as well as how likely it is to find such a job (I've heard it's much easier to get "hired" as a dancer than anything else...grr. True, or not?)

Any advice/info you can give will be greatly appreciated.

The one place I've already applied to as a bartender...they said they'd call me, and they advertised they were hiring bartenders/waitresses...but of course the fuckwits never did actually call. Now I'm debating whether or not to be persistent or just write that club off.

This is going to vary from club to club. At my club, you can forget it. Waitresses often times make more than dancers so dancers have a line of who wants to be a waitress. Someone has to die to get a spot there I swear. Not only do they make commision off ladys cocktails, but they get all their tips and 4 bucks an hour which is awesome waitress money, actually the highest paid waitstaff in the area even including resteraunts. Bartending is the sameway. We only serve beer so you dont have to really know what you are doing here. Therefore all the bouncers wait in line, senority kind of gets it and the owner swears that he will never have another female bartender.
I have no idea how other clubs would work. I imaginge, just go in and ask or call and ask, they will tell you how to do it.

There have been a few clubs that i've work at that would take pictures of anyone dropping of resumes or applying for positions as waitstaff and bartenders. The managers or owners would go through the pics and toss the ones they deemed not hot enough. I'm not suggesting anything here, but maybe that is the same reason they haven't called you yet.

The bartenders at my club make a killing. Doing shooters I make about $500 selling 4 trays of 40.. I make a dollar a shot plus tip money. If your good enough get to know your regulars and just sit and talk to customers dont be shy and get into a 'party mode' you can make a killing. Okay that said... why do I want to dance? LoL...
Okay im really absent minded tonight... to much to drink at work... Getting a job waitressing/shooters/bar tending in a SC you have to stop by the club, ask to talk to the wait staff manager bring your resume and talk to the manager... they prefer to see you in person.. if you apply online you have to send portfolio shots with your resume.
